Albatross Australia was established in 1995 as the Australasian division of the global Albatross Travel Group.

With offices in Australia, the United Kingdom and Turkey, we currently handle in excess of 7,000 groups per year.

The backbone of our business is the design, creation and operation of specialty ‘custom made’ group tours to the United Kingdom, Europe and Turkey. We handle a huge number of 'one off' special interest group tours for clubs, sporting teams, music groups and schools on behalf of Australian and New Zealand travel agencies and tour wholesalers.

Using our group travel design skills we have also created a range of very different and innovative European scheduled escorted tour programmes. Tours you can join individually which offer a genuinely more satisfying and fulfilling touring experience.

Over 15 years ago we created our first European festive tour capturing the very essence and joy of a traditional European White Christmas. Now, we proudly offer a wonderful range of fourteen different European White Christmas and New Year tours. Each one still holding true to our simple policy that we offer Christmas ‘as it should be’. We always take particular care to include special events and activities in each European White Christmas and New Year itinerary that will bring alive the nostalgia, joy and romance of the Festive Season.

In 2001 we released our first series of ANZAC Commemorative programmes to Gallipoli and the Western Front. Our ANZAC tours proved to be incredibly successful and become the benchmark against which other operators aspire to.

We are now clear market leaders handling Christmas and ANZAC Commemorative tours and we have never cancelled any departures on any of these programmes. Not even one!

In 2007, using the same ‘inclusive’ formula, Albatross Travel entered the European Summer touring market. We also became a founding member of the EuroTravel Experts organisation.

All our European Summer tours are noticeably different from the regular ‘run of the mill’ programmes on the market. For a start, our European Summer tours are designed specifically with Australian and New Zealand travellers in mind. Group sizes are smaller – limited to 30 passengers – the pace is more leisurely with 2 to 5 night stops everywhere and you get much more genuine sightseeing time and less time wasted sitting on coaches. Our European Summer tours have a very different style with that Albatross ‘touch’ and we offer ‘guaranteed group departures’.

In contrast to mainstream European tour operators we have a strict policy that there are no later charged ‘hidden’ options lists and extras. All tours are genuinely inclusive and we even include end of tour tips to your European tour manager and driver!
