Holland in Bloom, Bulbfields & Beyond!

Holland is known as the land of flowers, famous for its tulips that blossom in an explosion of colour each year. A springtime visit to the Dutch bulbfields is a great addition to any tour programme – the ever popular Keukenhof is the one of the world’s largest flower gardens with over 7 million flower bulbs in bloom. On the first Sunday in September each year the largest flower parade in the world takes place in Zundert and is a spectacular display guaranteed to brighten your autumn programme. In addition to these two amazing flower events, Holland has so much to offer throughout the year with attractions such as Amsterdam, Delft porcelain, windmills, cheese tasting, steam trains and boat trips. Our Sales Team can tailor make the perfect Dutch tour for your programme for any season.

22 March – 20 May, 2018 (to be confirmed)
More than 7 million tulips, daffodils and hyacinths create a spectacular display in the so-called ‘Garden of Europe’, covering an area of over 32 hectares. The park is awash with the sight and scent of blossoming flowers and you can even take a Whisper Boat trip past the bulbfields …a fabulous day out!

Corso Zundert Flower Parade, Zundert

Kinderdijk
Popular with groups, the UNESCO heritage site of Kinderdijk is home to one of the largest collections of windmills in Holland (19 in total) all dating back to the 18th century and kept in working order. Walk around the mills yourself or take the hopper canal boat which sails up and down the site. Alternatively, group tours and a tour boat are available.

Hoorn - Steam Train & Boat Trip
In the Historic Triangle between the ancient ‘Zuiderzee’ towns of Hoorn and Medemblik steam trains travel from village to village passing windmills and farmhouses. In April and May, the countryside between Hoorn and Medemblik changes into a colourful carpet of bulbfields. A connecting historic steamer sails along the coast of Lake IJsselmeer (the biggest freshwater lake in Europe) to the town of Enkhuizen….why not book a combined ticket?

Aalsmeer Flower Auction
You have to get up early to see this worldfamous auction, but it’s worth it! Experience the hustle and bustle of the auction floor, watch traders bidding against the clock and be amazed at the quantity of beautiful flowers traded daily from more than ten countries. Visit Royal Flora Holland and watch the entire auction from a special gallery. Visits can also be combined with a boat trip and an historical gardens tour.

Delft
This quaint town has remained the same for over three centuries. There is plenty to see and do –why not include a walking tour, boat trip or take a stroll around the museums and art galleries. Of course no trip to Delft would be complete without a trip to the famous porcelain factories.

Amsterdam
A fantastic city and great day excursion with so much to do. Please see page this page for suggested attractions.

Volendam
There is plenty to do all year round in Volendam, Holland’s best-known fishing village. Take a look in the harbour full of old Dutch ships or take a boat trip to Marken. There are plenty of reasons to visit this beautiful region! Edam is very near Volendam so why not include some cheese tasting.

Zaanse Schans
Dating back to the 18th and 19th century Zaanse Schans is a residential area where the past is bought back to life. With a bakery museum, clog making, craft workshops, cheese factory, windmills and pancake restaurant we can learn all about traditional Dutch life.
