Day 1 Arrival
We receive a warm welcome from our lovely 3 star hotel in the Tyrolean region of Austria this afternoon and have time to settle in prior to dinner this evening.

Day 2 Innsbruck & Lake Achen 92km/57 mile round trip
Today, we will visit the Tyrolean capital city of Innsbruck and see the famous, ornate 15th century ‘Golden Roof’, designed as a royal box for the Emperor to sit in state above the square below. We can then explore the Tyrolean Folk Art Museum, housed within a Franciscan monastery and arcaded Renaissance courtyard. After enjoying our packed lunch, we will visit Lake Achen via the oldest steam cog railway in Europe, the Achenseebahn, before returning to our hotel in time for tea and cake.

Day 3 Igls & Tyrolean Evening Driver’s Day Off
We will spend today at leisure in Igls. We may choose to embark on a cable car ride up the mountain or take the bus for a ten minute trip back to Innsbruck in order to further explore the Tyrolean capital. We enjoy an early evening meal before we board local coaches which will transfer us to Innsbruck where we will enjoy a traditional Tyrolean evening with the Gundolf family! Tonight we experience authentic Tyrolean music, folk dances and “shoe-slapping” as well as typical Tyrolean songs and yodelling. (The Tyrolean evening shows take place each evening at 20.30 hrs from April to end October). Following our fabulously entertaining evening we are returned to our hotel by local coach transfer.

Day 4 Krimml Waterfalls & Ziller Valley 271km/168 mile round trip
Today, we will travel through the famous Thurn Pass and onwards to the Krimml Waterfalls. We will visit the fascinating Water Wonder World and marvel at the spectacular falls before continuing our journey along the famous Gerlos Pass and Ziller Valley. We can spend some time exploring Mayrhofen at our leisure before returning to our hotel in time for tea and cake.

Operator note: There are toll roads on this route.

Day 5 Swarovski Crystal Worlds & Rattenberg 103km/64 mile round trip
Today, we will visit the Swarovski Crystal Worlds. Opened in 1995 to mark the 100th anniversary of the company’s founding, this popular attraction has welcomed millions of visitors over the years. The realm of the Giant hosts a rich collection of precious items housed in 16 Chambers of Wonder, five of which were completely redesigned in 2015 and expanded out into the garden. The displays in this museum are simply awe-inspiring as we wander through a sparkling, highly imaginative world! In the afternoon, we will visit the smallest town in Austria, Rattenberg, where we can wander through the picturesque streets and enjoy browsing for original souvenirs prior to our return journey home tomorrow.

Day 6 Departure
After breakfast this morning, we say farewell to Igls and begin our journey home.
