Day 1 Arrival
We arrive in Derbyshire in time for dinner.

Day 2 Derby & Royal Crown Derby 14 mile round trip
This morning, we will make our way to Derby, where we can enjoy spending time exploring the city.  Derby Cathedral towers above the city and has the second highest perpendicular church tower in England. Listen out for the bells, they are the oldest set of 10 bells in the world, one of which was cast in 1520, during the reign of Henry VIII, and is still in use almost 500 years later. Derby Museum and Art Gallery and Pickford’s House are also well worth a visit.

This afternoon, we make our way to Royal Crown Derby for a guided tour of its working factory.  Royal Crown Derby is world renowned for its luxury fine bone china products, which are manufactured solely in England, and its Visitor Centre provides an insight into the traditions, history and skills that go into making it so unique.  We will discover how each item of English fine bone china is made and see how beautiful pieces are created, with the tour taking us on the full journey from clay to the final gilded products seen on dining tables all around the world.  After our tour, we will enjoy a delicious afternoon tea in the 1750 Tea Room, served of course, on beautiful Royal Crown Derby china.

Day 3 Chatsworth House & Bakewell 46 mile round trip
Today we travel to Chatsworth House in the heart of the Peak District, home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire.  During our visit we have many rooms to explore, from the magnificent Painted Hall, State Rooms and Sketch Galleries to the beautiful Sculpture Gallery.  Chatsworth also has a diverse art collection to enjoy that includes Old Masters, contemporary ceramics, artefacts from Ancient Egypt and modern sculpture.  Following our visit we call in at Chatsworth Farm Shop which sells an excellent selection of produce from the estate, including Chatsworth’s own ale!  Before returning to our hotel we head to the nearby traditional market town of Bakewell, famous for its Bakewell puddings, located on the picturesque River Wye.

Day 4 National Brewery Centre Museum & Kedleston Hall (NT) 36 mile round trip
This morning we visit The National Brewery Centre Museum in Burton on Trent, where we will learn about the legendary Bass family and their role in the development of brewing.  The museum celebrates the social history and the real life experiences and stories of the people who helped to build Burton's world-renowned brewing reputation.  We complete aguided tour and sample some of the award winning ales brewed on site.  In the afternoon we visit Kedleston Hall, a spectacular 18th century mansion, the last of Derbyshire`s great houses to be built to rival Chatsworth.  We will explore the house, which was designed for lavish entertaining, and view its extensive collection of paintings, sculptures and original furnishings before we return to our hotel.

Day 5 Departure
After breakfast we depart our hotel and begin our journey home.
