Drivers’ Hours Compliance
We are aware of the impact of the EC regulations relating to drivers’ hours have on coach touring. All tours comply with the regulations, if operated exactly as advertised.
Location, Location, Location
We understand the importance of allowing free time for both passengers and drivers during a tour. We carefully select hotels so that your passengers have plenty to do on their doorstep or with good transport links to nearby attractions. Suggestions of what to do in the area if your driver has a day off are included in longer tours.
Our Visit, Inspect and Grade Programme
At Albatross Travel we invest time to Visit, Inspect and Grade all of the hotels that we promote.
Every hotel within has been carefully chosen for your passengers by our Product Team and has been individually visited and inspected by them. Based on many years of experience working with the coach and group organiser markets, our Product Team has developed an exclusive system of grading hotels based on the needs of your passengers and our understanding of your requirements.
Each hotel featured has been personally visited, inspected and graded. The information below highlights some of the features of our VIG programme. Many of the hotels have their own unique features such as sourcing local produce for the meals your passengers enjoy, being family owned and run, offering evening entertainment or having breathtaking views. All of these USPs are highlighted within the inclusions or description of the hotel to help you choose the best tour and package for your passengers.
Key features of this programme are:
• Every hotel featured in an Albatross brochure has been personally visited, inspected and graded
• All grading is carried out by Senior Members of the Product and Sales Teams
• Hotels are awarded a rating, similar to a star rating on the basis of a detailed hotel grading form that has been developed exclusively with the needs of your passengers in mind
• Grades are awarded on a points system that ensures consistency and objectivity across all standards of hotels and countries
• Our grading system takes into account all of the basic areas of importance such as location, facilities, standards and cleanliness. Additional points can be gained (or lost) by hotels on areas that you have told us are particularly important to you.
These include:
• What is the ease, cost and location of coach parking and access
• Is porterage available
• Whether groups eat in a hotel’s main dining room or in a separate area or room
• Whether the hotel has ground floor rooms or lift access to all floors
• Whether the hotel can offer an appropriate lounge area large enough to accommodate a group
