Day 2 York
We spend today exploring the compact medieval walled city of York. There are many attractions to enjoy including the awe-inspiring York Minster, its Old Palace and its state of the art attraction, The Undercroft, The Jorvik Viking Centre or a relaxing River Ouse Cruise. Stroll around “The Shambles”, one of the best preserved medieval streets in the world or visit the National Railway Museum, home to over 300 years' of railway history. Here we can see the famous blue Mallard engine that broke the world speed record for steam trains in 1938 - a record that has never been broken since - and the stunning 1935 Art Deco opulence of the Duchess of Hamilton steam train before jumping into the 21st century with the only futuristic Bullet Train outside of Japan.

Day 3 Lincoln
This morning we visit magnificent Lincoln Castle and its unique, fascinating restored Victorian Prison, used as a filming location for TV series such as Downton Abbey and Call the Midwife. In the afternoon, we visit one of Europe’s finest gothic buildings, Lincoln Cathedral.

Day 4 Wentworth Woodhouse & Chatsworth House
We begin our day at one of the largest houses in Europe, Wentworth Woodhouse. We enjoy an hour guided tour, to learn about the fascinating history of this very special place. The story encompasses the rise and fall of Wentworth Woodhouse from its beginnings in the 1600's right through to the present day Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust. As you journey through the state rooms see first-hand how the splendour of this 18th century house is still intact after a chequered past. We continue onto Chatsworth House in the heart of the Peak District. We have many rooms to explore, including the magnificent Painted Hall, State Rooms, Sketch Galleries and beautiful Sculpture Gallery and a diverse art collection to admire.
