Day 2 The Savill Garden & Royal Windsor
We start today at The Savill Garden, a 35-acre oasis in Windsor Great Park. Commissioned by George V and created by Sir Eric Savill, this ornamental haven offers wonderful summer and early-autumn displays of vibrant roses, hydrangeas and nostalgic royal-themed gardens. In the afternoon, visit Royal Windsor, crowned by Windsor Castle, a home to British monarchs for over 1,000 years. Enjoy time free to stroll the cobbled streets, and admire gems like the Olde King’s Head pub, reputedly where Shakespeare wrote ‘The Merry Wives of Windsor’, and Nell Gwyn’s House.
Day 3 Oxford
This morning we explore Oxford, famous for its ancient university and ‘Dreaming Spires’. Set along the River Thames and River Cherwell, this beautiful city consists of golden-hued colleges, quadrangles and 17th century treasures like the Ashmolean Museum. We enjoy a 1-hour guided tour of the University of Oxford’s Bodleian Library, one of the oldest libraries in Europe. Why not treat yourself to The Bodleian Traditional Afternoon Tea, a delightful experience in the café located within Weston Library.
Day 4 Departure
After breakfast, we make our way home.
