An Authentic Irish Experience

This new tour gives groups a truly authentic experience of traditional Irish life. Full of spectacular scenery, we travel through the Wicklow Mountains National Park and the valley of Glendalough, spend a day in Dublin and feast and drink like a local with a visit to the fantastic Malzard O’Gradys Pub, where we will be immersed in all things Irish!

Day 1 Arrival
We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2 Wicklow Mountains National Park & Avoca
Today, we travel through Wicklow Mountains National Park, one of Ireland’s most untouched regions, before heading to the spectacular valley of Glendalough. Here, we visit the medieval monastic ruins before calling into the picturesque town of Avoca, the filming location for ‘Ballykissangel’ and home to Avoca Handweavers, Ireland’s oldest weaving mill.

Day 3 Dublin
We spend today at leisure in the vibrant city of Dublin, home to many famous attractions. Visit the famous Guinness Storehouse, historic Dublin Castle, take a cruise on the River
Liffey or simply enjoy a spot of shopping before relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere in the famous Temple Bar pub, the authentic home of Irish music, the largest selection of whiskies in Ireland and the pub with the largest selection of sandwiches in the world!

Day 4 Malzard O’Gradys Pub & Kilkenny
We make our way to Stonyford today, where we experience an Irish pub at the very heart of village life at the fantastic Malzard O’Gradys Pub. Dating back to 1789, the pub has been run by the same family for over five generations and over 200 years, bringing together the local community in a lively celebration of storytellers, musicians, hurling enthusiasts and pint pullers! We will be treated to an experience that compels us to become a true Stonyford local in an atmosphere of pure fun as we learn how to pull a pint, sing-along and dance Irish style! We arrive to a village welcome, have a quick lesson on the history and rules of hurling, enjoy live music and learn how to pull our own pint before a pie and quiche lunch. The remainder of our afternoon is spent at leisure in the medieval city of Kilkenny where attractions include Kilkenny Castle and the Kilkenny Design Centre, home to some of Ireland’s best craft shopping.

Day 5 Departure
After breakfast, we make our way home.
