Arran – The Jewel in Scotland’s Scenic Crown

We discover the enchanting Isle of Arran in our new packaged tour and feature visits to the Isle of Arran Distillery and Brodick Castle as well as Robert Burns Birthplace Museum and Dumfries House on the mainland – all Scottish gems!
Day 1 Arrival on Arran
After our ferry crossing, we arrive on the Isle of Arran in time for dinner.

Day 2 North Arran & Arran Distillery
The Isle of Arran, known as 'Scotland in Miniature', is a condensed version of the mainland, with mountains, lochs, rolling hills and meadows surrounded by a stunning coastline. Today, we take a scenic circular drive through the north of the Island and its many pretty villages. We make a stop at Lamlash Bay to view the spectacular coastline
towards Holy Island before arriving at the Isle of Arran Distillery where we enjoy a 45 minute guided tour, finishing with a wee dram!

Day 3 Robert Burns Birthplace Museum & Dumfries House
We take the ferry to the mainland today to visit Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, which offers a unique encounter with Scotland’s favourite son. Set in 10 acres of the poet’s cherished countryside, the museum includes the famous Burns Cottage, where the poet was born, the historic landmarks where he set his greatest work, the elegant monument
and gardens created in his honour and a modern museum housing the world’s most important collection of his life and works. From here we continue to Dumfries House, a stunning estate and 18th century house set in 2,000 acres, where we enjoy a guided tour and afternoon tea served within the main house (exclusively for groups) before returning to our hotel.

Day 4 Brodick Castle & South Arran
This morning, we visit the quintessential Victorian Highland estate of Brodick Castle, where history can be traced back as far as the Vikings. The setting is fronted by the sea, bedecked with gardens, surrounded by hills and overlooked by the majestic mountain of Goatfell. We complete our day by taking a scenic circular journey around the south of
the island before heading back to our hotel.

Day 5 Departure
We begin our journey home today.
