Next, we travel to Grasmere where have time free to delve into this chocolate-box village. Be sure to visit The Grasmere Gingerbread Shop for some of its traditional gingerbread— the much-loved creation of a Victorian cook Sarah Nelson—and stroll the Wordsworth Daffodil Garden, which honours Wordsworth’s famous poem ‘The Daffodils’.
Day 3 Southport or Liverpool
Today we can choose where to spend the day to suit our itinerary, taking our pick from a wide variety of nearby destinations and attractions. For instance, Blackpool is a great location from which to visit the vibrant seaside resort of Southport with its stunning sandy beaches, gardens, parks and shops, or to head to Liverpool, home to sights such as Liverpool Cathedral, nostalgic Beatles’ landmarks and the museums, galleries and shops of the Albert Dock complex.
