Day 2 Drumlanrig Castle & Dumfries
This morning, we visit majestic Drumlanrig Castle affectionately known as the “Pink Palace” due to its finely hewn red sandstone exterior. Boasting 120 rooms, 17 turrets, sumptuous rooms, magnificent staircases and impressive gardens with breathtaking views across the Nith Valley, the castle is one of the finest examples of 17th century Renaissance architecture in Scotland. We enjoy a guided tour here before travelling to Dumfries, where we spend time at leisure.

Day 3 Lake District
We head south today to enjoy a day in the fabulous Lakes where we embark on a 40 minute cruise on Lake Windermere from Bowness to Lakeside pier taking in the beautiful scenery as we glide serenely across the water. We follow this with a 20 minute steam train journey on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway. On arrival at Haverthwaite station we enjoy a lovely afternoon tea.
