Cave in to the Beauty of Bath & Wells

UPDATED TOUR

The historic Best Western Plus Swan Hotel in Wells is fabulously located in the very centre of Wells, England’s smallest city, which nestles at the foot of the Mendip Hills and is famous for its medieval architecture. It is from here that we explore Somerset’s great variety.

This holiday features parts of the Great West Way, a 125-mile route linking London and Bristol, where you'll find a mesmerising mix of picture postcard villages, rolling hills and historic sites.
PACKAGED ITINERARY

We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2 Bath
We spend today at leisure in Bath where we can visit the remains of one of the finest spas of the ancient world, The Roman Baths, before enjoying lunch in the Roman Baths Kitchen or Pump Room Restaurant. We can then explore stunning Bath Abbey, Jane Austen Museum or the Fashion Museum amongst other fine options.

Day 3 Wells & Cheddar Gorge or (from June) the East Somerset Railway
After breakfast we enjoy the fine city of Wells, where the cathedral is a ‘must see’ whilst
the Somerset Farmers’ Market (every Wednesday 9.00am - 2.30pm) will be in full swing.
After lunch we head to the Cheddar Gorge and Caves where our ticket includes one cave entrance and a hot drink with cake (please note, some steps need to be negotiated in the caves). From June this trip can be substituted for a ride on the East Somerset Steam Railway.
