Colourful Roses

The sunny resort town of Roses is perfectly positioned on the Costa Brava for embarking on a wonderful, excellent value tour in summer or winter and our suggested itinerary features medieval Perpignan and vibrant Barcelona.

Rob says...
“Perfectly positioned next to the beach, your guests can relax on the terrace with a drink and soak up the terrific views.”
Day 1 Arrival
On arrival at our hotel in Roses, we can admire the beautiful coastal views whilst sipping our welcome drink as our luggage is taken to our room.

Day 2 Roses & Cadaqués 32km/20 mile round trip
Today we will enjoy a relaxing morning in Roses. Why not take a stroll along the beachfront promenade and enjoy the views? This afternoon, we will take a drive to the pretty whitewashed village of Cadaqués, a maze of pretty, narrow streets that tumble down to the water, and stylish art galleries that mingle effortlessly with the souvenir shops, cafés and seafood restaurants.

Day 3 Perpignan 166km/103 mile round trip
Today we will cross the Spanish border into France and visit the charming medieval town of Perpignan, which is still essentially Catalan. The relatively small medieval centre of the town lies just south of the River Basse, and its narrow streets and open squares are a delight to explore. The Moorish architecture of the Palace of the Kings of Majorca is situated on the edge of the old town. North of the river, Salvador Dali once stood at the train station and declared that he had a visionary experience that Perpignan was the centre of the universe, and so it is here you will find a statue of him as a tribute from a grateful local tourist trade.

Day 4 Roses Driver’s Day Off
We will spend today relaxing in Roses. Sunbathe on the beach, explore the lovely old town of Roses or perhaps take a trip on a glass bottomed boat for a scenic view of the coastline.

Day 5 Barcelona 311km/193 mile round trip
Today, we enjoy a full day excursion to Barcelona, starting with a stroll along the wide promenade of Las Ramblas. Explore the narrow alleyways, boutique shops and tapas bars. Don’t miss the eye-catching buildings designed by Spain’s most visionary architect, Antoni Gaudi, including the Parc Güell and the magnificent Church of the Sagrada Familia.

Day 6 Departure
After breakfast this morning, we depart our hotel and begin our journey home.
