Cruise the Danube to Budapest & Vienna 2020

Sit back, relax and watch the world slip gently by as you cruise the Danube in style. Passing through four countries and visiting three capital cities, this four star cruise is sure to appeal.
Day 1 Embark in Passau - Melk
Today, we make our way to Passau and join our ship. We can then relax as we set sail and cruise towards Melk.

Day 2 Melk - Vienna
Today, we can visit one of the most famous monastic houses in Austria, Melk Abbey. Alternatively, we can explore the pretty Austrian town of Melk, browse the shops and enjoy a coffee in a traditional café. The remainder of the day will be spent relaxing on board as we sail to the Austrian capital, Vienna, for an overnight stop.

Day 3 Vienna - Budapest
Waking up in Vienna, we have the whole day to enjoy the city and its historic buildings and attractions. We highly recommend joining a city tour which will take in some of the major attractions that the capital city has to offer. In the afternoon, either enjoy an excursion to Schönbrunn Palace or explore the city at leisure. In the evening we cast off and cruise towards the Hungarian capital of Budapest.

Day 4 Budapest
Spend time in one of the world’s most beautiful cities and explore both sides of Hungary’s capital – traditional “Buda” and cosmopolitan “Pest”. Start with an optional tour to become acquainted with the city and then spend time at leisure exploring the many delights Budapest has to offer. In the evening enjoy a visit to a traditional Folklore Show before returning to the ship via Gellert Hill for an opportunity to view the illuminated city.

Day 5 Budapest - Bratislava
We have the morning to enjoy a Puszta Horse Show before rejoining the ship for lunch whilst setting sail for Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.

Day 6 Bratislava - Dürnstein
We will arrive in Bratislava early in the morning so we can start exploring straight after breakfast. This historic city has a relaxed atmosphere and is compact, therefore easy to explore on foot. We could also take a short bus ride up to the castle before enjoying a drink in a café on the banks of the Danube. Later in the day we will set sail towards Dürnstein.

Day 7 Dürnstein - Passau
Dürnstein is famed for the ruins of the castle that once imprisoned Richard the Lionheart. Take a stroll around the town and admire the pretty courtyards and buildings.

Day 8 Disembark in Passau
We disembark this morning and begin our journey home.
