Discover the enchanting, medieval villages of the Bordeaux region whilst cruising along the river, wine glass in hand, camera at the ready for capturing the beautiful scenery...
Day 1 Embark in Bordeaux
Passengers are welcome to board the ship in Bordeaux at 18.00 hrs. After settling into our comfortable cabin, we will enjoy a welcome cocktail with the crew before enjoying the evening at leisure.

Day 2 Bordeaux – Pauillac
We begin our cruise early in the morning, cruising down the Garonne to the Gironde, passing alongside the islands of Cazeau and Patiras before reaching Pauillac. After enjoying lunch, we will discover the wine-growing region of Médoc, a corner of France that produces the most prestigious red wines in the world, thanks to its mild, humid microclimate. We will journey past most of the Médoc wine areas (Saint Julien, Margaux, Haut-Médoc). On this famous Châteaux Route, we will stop to taste the famous wines of the region, visiting major vineyards such as Châteaux Laffitte-Rothschild, Latour and Mouton Rothschild. We return to the boat at the end of the afternoon where we can enjoy an evening of on-board entertainment.

Day 3 Pauillac – Blaye
We begin to cruise early in the morning heading for Blaye, known for its 17th century citadel built by Vauban to protect the city of Bordeaux. We will leave our ship for a journey along the Route de la Corniche Fleurie where we will see the old, traditional fishing huts on stilts and the remarkable limestone cliffs. We will also stop in Bourg to take in the impressive views and walk to the market centre where we will be able to taste the local figs. After we return to Blaye, we will have a guided tour of the citadel, which includes the monastery and several army barracks. We will finish our tour with a tasting of the famous Blaye “praslines” before we return on board to enjoy an evening of dancing after dinner.

Day 4 Blaye – Libourne
Today we will cruise to Libourne. Upon arrival, we will make our way to Saint-Emilion. We will have a guided tour of the underground monuments in Saint-Emilion village, where our guide will tell us all about the history of this medieval town. We will then visit the impressive monolithic church which is hewn entirely in limestone and the largest of its kind in Europe before departing for a visit to a family-owned wine-growing estate in Saint-Emilion. We will be welcomed by the owner, who will explain the stages of the wine-making process. A tutored wine-tasting session will complete the visit. We head back to our ship for our festive gala evening and dinner!

Day 5 Libourne – Bordeaux
We cruise to Bordeaux this morning, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognised for its exceptional architectural heritage. We will enjoy a comprehensive tour of the city, taking in all the main monuments, followed by a walking tour of old Bordeaux. From the wide avenues of the neo-classical Les Quinconces quarter and the Grand Theatre to the narrow lanes of the Saint Pierre quarter, the tour will provide us with the story of Bordeaux’s heritage. We return to our ship, where tonight’s entertainment will be provided by the crew.

Depending on mooring availability, the stopover in Pauillac may be replaced by Cussac-Fort-Médoc and Libourne by Bourg

MS Cyrano de Bergerac

Constructed in 2013, the Premium MS Cyrano de Bergerac was perfectly built to sail perfectly along the beautiful Gironde River. Accommodation for 174 passengers is split over three decks, which are all accessible by a lift. The ship facilities include a restaurant and lounge/bar on the middle deck, gift shop and a large sun deck (please note the lift does NOT go to the sun deck). The restaurant offers French cuisine along with traditional local dishes, freshly prepared by an on-board chef. Breakfast is a buffet style whereas lunch and dinner is waiter service and is a set menu that changes daily. The bar and lounge are situated at the front of the ship and features 180-degree panoramic windows, offering the best location for the views of the Gironde. The bar/lounge also features a decently sized dance floor that becomes well-used as the night wears on with entertainment each evening. On the Sun Deck above, guests can admire the passing views of Europe's most storied waterways with outdoor deck space that stretches from bow to stern. There is a lift on-board to all deck except the sun deck. All cabins have en-suite shower facilities, air conditioning, hairdryers, TV, safe and outside views; Middle and Upper deck cabins offer French balconies, with the Main deck cabins offering a porthole.

MS Princesse d’Aquitaine

The Princesse d’Aquitaine was constructed in 2001 and refurbished in 2011. She is a two deck ship and there is no lift or stair lift. At 361 feet in length, she can accommodate 138 passengers in 69 cabins for an intimate river cruising experience. The cabins are almost identical in size and amenities and the only thing that differentiates them is their position on the ship’s two passenger decks. Each cabin includes a private bathroom with shower, toilet and sink/vanity area, a hairdryer, personal safe and a satellite television. Whilst each cabin offers large picture windows of the gorgeous Gironde, it is worth noting that cabins aboard Princesse d’Aquitaine do not feature French balconies. Princesse d’Aquitaine features a main restaurant located on the Upper Deck and meals are served buffet-style for breakfast, with a set menu that changes daily for lunch and dinner. The Restaurant has an intimate feel and encourages a social atmosphere, with a variety of table sizes. The main lounge, featuring 180 degree panoramic windows offering views of the Gironde, is located on the same deck. With a full-service bar, it’s a great place to relax and spend time with new-found friends. The lounge also features a good sized dance floor that becomes well-used as the night wears on. On the Sun Deck above, guests can admire the passing views of Europe’s most popular waterways with outdoor deck space that stretches from bow to stern.
