Day 1 Arrival in Letterkenny
We arrive at our Letterkenny hotel in time for dinner. We offer various Ireland overnight options depending on your arrival times and ferry route to Ireland. Please contact your Albatross Account Manager for suggestions.
Day 2 Dramatic Derry-Londonderry & Guildhall
This morning, we meet our informative guide for a 2 hour walking tour of Derry. After lunch, we enjoy a 1 hour guided tour of the Tower Museum before walking to the neo-gothic Guildhall where we discover its unique history and stunning stained glass windows. We spend the rest of the day in Derry at leisure.
Day 3 Glenveagh National Park & Castle
We travel this morning through hauntingly beautiful wilderness, pristine lakes, tumbling waterfalls and rugged mountains to Glenveagh National Park. On arrival we watch a short movie on the history of the area before transferring to a shuttle bus which will take us to Glenveagh Castle where we enjoy a guided tour. We spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure back in Letterkenny.
Day 4 County Donegal to County May via Sligo
After enjoying our full Irish breakfast we drive to Donegal where we embark upon a 75 minute circular cruise of stunning Donegal Bay. Whilst on board we are entertained with a sing-a-long! We have free time in Donegal for lunch before we begin our journey into County Mayo, stopping off in Sligo for the afternoon, before arriving at the McWilliam Park, our hotel for the next 3 nights.
Day 5 National Museum of Ireland’s Country Life & Westport House
We spend this morning at the National Museum of Ireland's Country Life set in the spectacular grounds of Turlough Park House. We travel on to the charming town of Westport where we enjoy free time for lunch before enjoying a 1 hour guided tour of Westport House, one of the jewels in the crown of Ireland's historical family homes.
Day 6 Carrick-On-Shannon & Strokestown Park
(If required we can arrange local coach hire to allow for a driver's day off)
We travel to the pretty town of Carrick-on-Shannon where we board the Moon River Pleasure Cruiser for a relaxing 1 hour cruise on the River Shannon. We enjoy free time for lunch in the town before we complete our day with a visit to Strokestown Park & the Irish National Famine Museum where we enjoy a 45 minute guided tour of the Georgian Palladian mansion and a 40 minute tour of the Famine Museum housed in the stable yards.
Day 7 County Mayo to County Clare via Galway City
En route to our next hotel in Ennis, we stop at Galway where we spend some time at leisure exploring this fascinating city.
Day 8 Aran Islands & The Cliffs of Moher
We travel along the Wild Atlantic Way to Doolin Pier where we board the Doolin ferry for a 30 minute cruise to the Island of Inis Oirr. On arrival we enjoy a pony and trap tour before a stunning cruise to the base of the Cliffs of Moher.
Day 9 Foynes Flying Boat Museum & Bunratty Castle & Folk Park
This morning we drive to Killimer where we board a ferry for the 20 minute crossing to Tarbert from where we travel to the famous Foynes Flying Boat Museum. We explore the museum and enjoy an Irish coffee making demonstration before we set off for Bunratty Castle and Folk Park.
Day 10 Departure
We must leave Ireland today and head for our overnight hotel if required.
