PACKAGED ITINERARY

Day 1 Arrival
We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2 Lake District
We start our day with a 30 minute steamer cruise from Ambleside Pier to Bowness Pier on beautiful Lake Windermere. Taking in the finest views from England’s longest lake, we cruise serenely to Bowness, where we enjoy time at leisure to enjoy lunch and a stroll around this bustling Lakes town. After lunch, we head for Bowness Pier again, from where we enjoy a 40 minute steamer cruise to Lakeside Pier. Once here, we climb aboard a Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway steam train at Lakeside Station, from where we enjoy a 20 minute journey to Haverthwaite station.

Day 3 Journey to Aberdeen
Today, we leave the Lake District behind and travel to Aberdeen, taking in the lovely scenery as we go. There are several destinations on our route that we could pause at, including Gretna Green to visit the Blacksmiths or Dundee to explore the exciting V&A.

Day 4 Balmoral Castle
We spend today at stunning Balmoral, the Scottish home of the Royal Family. We spend
time at leisure exploring and learning all about the castle’s fascinating history, famous
residents and visitors on our audio handset tour. We visit the largest room in the castle,
the Ballroom, as well as the exhibitions, grounds and gardens. Covering three acres, the
beautiful formal gardens feature a large kitchen garden, a range of Victorian glasshouses
full of flowering pot plants and a water garden. Please note, admittance to Balmoral is subject to members of the Royal Family not being in residence and will not be open in late summer. Please speak with the Sales Team for alternatives if Balmoral is closed.

Day 5 Highland Cattle & Aberdeen
After breakfast, we travel to the Lochton Of Leys Farmhouse, the home of Aberdeenshire Highland Beef. Here, we meet Grace the farmer’s herd of pedigree Highland Cattle up close, and learn about the history of this native breed and how they are farmed today on a 1 hour guided tour. We also enjoy a beef tasting and tea/coffee served with homemade Scottish shortbread. Afterwards, we visit the ‘Granite City’ of Aberdeen, famous for its stunning, sparkling, granite buildings and monuments that shimmer in the sunlight. We spend the afternoon at leisure shopping and exploring the city before returning to our hotel.

Day 6 Departure
After breakfast, we make our way home.
