Fab Four Groups!

Not just famous for The Beatles and its music heritage, Liverpool also has world-class attractions and the largest collection of museums and galleries in the UK outside of London. 2018 marks ten years since Liverpool held the title of European Capital of Culture and the city is marking this with several celebrations. Starting with a major coup for Liverpool, the World Museum will be hosting a new Terracotta Army exhibition, the only museum outside of London to do so in over 30 years. The amazing Tall Ships will also be sailing into the River Mersey in 2018! With so many famous attractions to choose from, you can pick those that will best suit your group’s interests and with three great hotels to choose from, Liverpool really is fab for groups!
Mersey Ferries
The famous Mersey ferries are a great way to see Liverpool. Stop off at Spaceport to explore all things intergalactic or the award winning U-Boat Story for a fascinating insight into a World War II German submarine. Or enjoy a summer evening cruise – a two hour cruise featuring live music, bar and spectacular views of the world heritage Waterfront!
Mersey Ferries also offer a fascinating Manchester Ship Canal cruise, taking in 35 miles of Britain’s grandest canal between Liverpool and the vibrant Salford Quays.

Albert Dock
Forming part of the UNESCO World Heritage Waterfront Site, the Albert Dock is one of the country’s top heritage attractions, boasting museums, galleries, restaurants and bars. The Beatles Story is a huge draw for Fab Four fans and provides a fascinating insight into the life and times of the Beatles. Tate Liverpool stages international exhibitions of the best in modern art. The Magical Mystery Tour also leaves from Albert Dock and is a two hour journey around the places that made the Beatles, including Penny Lane and Strawberry Field. The National Trust also runs tours to Mendips and 20 Forthlin Road, Lennon and McCartney’s childhood homes, which are beautifully preserved and where they composed many of their early songs.

Shopping
Liverpool is a shopper’s paradise and visitors are spoilt for choice between gleaming new city-centre shopping centres such as Liverpool One, boutique arcades and bohemian streets of independent stores.

Tall Ships Liverpool 2018
An international fleet of tall ships takes over the city for the start of the 2018 Biscay Tall Ships Regatta. They will be in the Mersey over the late May Bank Holiday, from Friday May 25 to Monday, May 28 2018. This event will offer a fantastic opportunity to see many beautiful ships from across the world.

British Music Experience
This new permanent exhibition dedicated to the history of popular British music is housed in Liverpool’s Cunard Building. The attraction opened in March 2017 and features state of the art effects and over 600 iconic memorabilia from the last 70 years. Artefacts include original handwritten lyrics, iconic stage costumes, never seen before images and instruments owned by the music legends themselves, as well as hours of famous soundtracks.

Cavern Club
The Beatles played at the Cavern Club nearly 300 times, helping to make it become the most famous live music venue in the world. A new statue of Cilla Black has recently been erected outside the club, marking her connection with this famous club.

Planned for a run of more than six months, from February to October 2018, visitors to the museum will be given a glimpse into the tomb’s extraordinary story alongside important artefacts relating to the formative years of the Chinese nation.
