Fantastic Galway has been chosen as the European City of Culture for 2020 so what better time to discover what makes this beautiful corner of the Emerald Isle so special…our packaged tour takes in Galway, the rugged Aran Islands, Connemara National Park and tranquil Kylemore Abbey - find out more below!

GREAT NEWS: After Brexit (deal or no deal), Passports still won’t be needed for entry into Ireland. How’s that for a great deal!
Day 1 Arrival

We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2 Aran Islands
This morning we visit the magnificent Aran Islands. We take a 50 minute crossing on the ferry from Ros a’ Mhil, arriving into the harbour of Kilronan from where we embark on a minibus tour with a local guide. The highlight of our tour is Dun Aengus, a 2,000 year old fort perched on the edge of a 60m cliff top. Please note, sturdy footwear is recommended, the path is quite steep and partly follows some uneven ground.

Day 3 Connemara National Park
Today, we enjoy a full day tour of Connemara National Park, one of the wildest & most beautiful regions in Ireland. We have free time for lunch at the Victorian town of Clifden before travelling on to Kylemore Abbey, owned and run by the Benedictine community who have been here since 1920. Boasting Ireland’s largest walled garden, the Abbey also sells pottery, fudge & award winning chocolates handmade by the Benedictine nuns.

Day 4 Galway, City of Culture
This morning, we make our way to the centre of the small, colourful city of Galway to board the Corrib Princess at Woodquay for a 90 minute cruise along the River Corrib to Lough Corrib, Ireland’s second largest lake, enjoying commentary from our ship’s skipper along the way. After our cruise, we spend time at leisure in Galway before returning to our hotel for an early dinner. After dinner, we have the option of returning to Galway to enjoy a lively evening of Trad on the Prom*!
*Optional extra. Tickets from €30. Please call us for more details!

Day 5 Departure
After breakfast, we make our way home.
