Gardens in the Glorious, Golden Cotswolds

Swindon is the perfect base to explore so much of the glorious, golden Cotswolds, which elegantly roll over 5 counties. On this tour we visit the National Arboretum at Westonbirt, home to over 15,000 trees from around the world, as well as the Garden at nearby Miserden. No tour to the Cotswolds would be complete without a visit to the Regency city of Bath. Finally, we round our tour off with Castle Combe, often described as the prettiest village in England.

This holiday journeys through the Great West Way® a touring route between London and Bristol, where you'll find a mesmerising mix of picture postcard villages, rolling hills and historic sites. Why not consider joining it up with other attractions on and off the route nearby - call your Account Manager to see what we can tailor make for you.

Day 1 Arrival
We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2 Westonbirt Arboretum & Bath
After breakfast, we visit Westonbirt, The National Arboretum, for a 90 minute walking tour. Home to 5 national tree collections and 2500 different species from all corners of the globe, we can appreciate the majesty and understand the importance
of the arboretum in research and conservation. We have time for lunch in the friendly
café before departing for Bath, and the afternoon at leisure. We are spoilt for choice
with things to do and see in this honey-coloured, compact city: from the famous Roman Baths and Pump Rooms to the Royal Crescent, Victoria Art Gallery and Bath Brew House, it feels as though we have stepped into a Jane Austen novel.

Day 3 The Garden at Miserden & Castle Combe
This morning, we travel to The Garden at Miserden for a mid-morning guided
tour. This 17th century house and garden is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered.
Overlooking a deer park and rolling hills beyond, our tour takes us through the delightfully cared for gardens, including extensive Yew, a notable topiary walk and ancient Mulberry Tree amongst other features. We round off our day with a visit to nearby Castle Combe, often referred to as the prettiest village in England.

Day 4 Departure
After breakfast, we make our way home.
