Overview

Our cosy winter break at the historic Grant Arms offers a blend of traditional Scottish hospitality, luxury and exceptional service. Highlights include exploring the beautiful Cairngorm scenery with a guide and taking in the local works of art, photographs and pottery at Spey Bank Studio plus fascinating artefacts at the Grantown Museum. Soak up the atmosphere at a special gala dinner with a Scottish piper.

Itinerary

PACKAGED ITINERARY

Day 1 Arrival

Day 2 Grantown-on-Spey
After breakfast, we head outdoors for a 2-hour local walk with an expert guide to explore and discover Grantown-on-Spey, a planned settlement in the heart of the Strathspey region. In the afternoon we enjoy an afternoon tea and quiz back at our hotel.

Day 3 Grantown Museum
This morning, we find out more about the local highland heritage with a visit to the Grantown Museum with a unique collection of artefacts and photos. This afternoon, we have free time in the highland capital of Inverness with its popular museums, galleries, walks and not forgetting Inverness Castle.

Day 4 Spey Bank Studio
Today, we enjoy a scenic drive south along the west shores of Loch Ness, pausing for a visit to the Loch Ness Centre, on return to our village we visit the newly opened Spey Bank Studios.

Situated in the heart of the grand Highland town of Grantown-on-Spey, this traditional, quality Scottish hotel once hosted Queen Victoria and in more recent times, Queen Elizabeth II. The hotel offers modern comforts whilst retaining its traditional character and is proud of its location, surrounded by amazing wildlife, flora and fauna. All 50 well maintained, comfortable bedrooms have spacious bathrooms and are equipped with a TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The public areas were recently refurbished to a high standard, the large restaurant is in a beautiful, high-ceilinged room which overlooks the high street, and the bar and lounge areas are cosy and relaxing.
