“One of my real favourites – in a quieter spot on the west coast offering amazing value and made so successful by the owner Erminio who takes time to welcome everyone and, along with his family, offers great hospitality.”

Day 1 Arrival
We will arrive at our hotel with time to settle in prior to dinner this evening.

Day 2 Sirmione 90km/56 mile round trip
Today, we will drive to the attractive medieval spa town of Sirmione, known for the healing properties of its thermal springs. With its rich historical and artistic heritage, its two main attractions are its ancient Roman Villa ruins, known as the Grotte di Catullo, and the 13th century Scaligera Castle. We can enjoy exploring the narrow, winding lanes at our leisure.

Day 3 Salò, Gardone & Isola del Garda 26km/16 mile round trip
This morning, we will visit the town of Salò, the renowned port and entrance to the Riviera dei Limoni. Traces of its prestigious past can be seen along the main street in the elegant historic centre lined with beautiful buildings, pretty boutiques and restaurants. Saturday is market day, so we can also enjoy browsing its stalls. In the afternoon, we will visit Gardone Riviera, a small yet beautiful resort with a piazza sloping towards the lakeshore and a peaceful promenade. We will board a boat to the romantic private island of Isola del Garda, and enjoy a guided tour of the gardens and parts of the neo-gothic Villa Borghese Cavazza.

Day 4 Toscolano Driver’s Day Off
Today, we enjoy a day at leisure in Toscolano. We can walk to the pretty port and beach area and relax, enjoying the beautiful views.

Day 5 Mantova 175km/109 mile round trip
One of the best kept secrets in Northern Italy is the little town of Mantova with its stunning Palazzo Ducale (closed Mondays). The building is a marvellous combination of Medieval and Renaissance architecture and artistic expression. We can then visit the striking cathedral of Duomo di Mantova, with its combination of Romanesque, Renaissance and Baroque architecture. We then make our way to the Trattoria Da Arturo close to Madonna della Scoperta, for an authentic and fabulous lunch paired with a glass of locally produced wine! We return to our hotel and spend the remainder of the afternoon relaxing by the pool prior to dinner this evening.

Day 6 Departure
Sadly, we must bid farewell to the beauty of Lake Garda and begin our journey home.
