Gwledd Conwy Feast
On Wales’ scenic north coast, the beautiful medieval, walled town of Conwy is home to Gwledd Conwy Feast, held each October. The world heritage listed castle is a stunning backdrop to this annual festival of food, music and art, run by local people, and timed to coincide with the start of the mussel fishing season. Conwy is the last surviving, rake-only mussel fishing community in the UK. The festival includes a large food hall of Welsh produce; a local produce market, seafood and regional foods demonstrations, as well as tasting and cookery events. There's a quayside bar and locally brewed craft ale marquee, and street food for all tastes. The event stages two days and nights of the best bands in the area, and has a vibrant arts programme including workshops, an artists makers marquee and a literary event. Traditional craft demonstrations, gardens, and a farmyard of animals, celebrate food from the land.
