Historic Harrogate

Our two centrally located Harrogate hotels are perfectly positioned for touring the beautiful area of North Yorkshire.
Day 1 Arrival
On arrival at our hotel, we will enjoy a welcome tea or coffee whilst our bags are taken to our room.

Day 2 Harrogate
Today, we will spend the day exploring the historic, English spa town of Harrogate, with its magnificent buildings, colourful banks of flowers, broad tree-line boulevards and diverse range of shops. We can pay a visit to the Royal Pump Rooms Museum to discover its history or perhaps the Mercer Art Gallery before enjoying lunch at the famous Betty’s Tea Room, where Yorkshire tea first originated.

Day 3 York 44 mile round trip
After breakfast, we will make our way to York, where we will spend the day exploring this historic city. Attractions to enjoy include the magnificent York Minster, the National Railway Museum and York Castle Museum and Prison. We can spend the rest of the day exploring the cobbled streets of The Shambles at our leisure.

Day 4 RHS Garden Harlow Carr & Harewood House 18 mile round trip
This morning, we will pay a visit to RHS Garden Harlow Carr, one of Yorkshire’s most innovative gardens. The 58 acre garden has many seasonal highlights including the UK’s longest streamside garden, woodland, wildflower meadows, perennial borders and an extensive kitchen garden. In the afternoon, we will visit Harewood House, one of the Treasure Houses of England set in the heart of Yorkshire. During our fascinating afternoon we learn how Harewood was recently used as a major set for ITV’s series ‘Victoria’ and was transformed into completely different locations including Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace.

Day 5 Departure
After breakfast, we will leave our hotel and begin our journey home.
