Hit the High Notes in Liverpool

Not just famous for The Beatles and its music heritage, Liverpool also has the largest collection of museums and galleries in the UK outside of London. With so many attractions and three fantastic hotels to choose from, you can select the best options for your groups!

Janine says…
‘Liverpool is my favourite city in the UK. Every time I visit, I always experience something new, with so many different events taking place throughout the year. The historic Albert Dock has so much on offer for groups and my personal favourites have to be the Mersey Maritime Museum and the Museum of Liverpool. The beautiful architecture of Liverpool reflects over 300 years of history whilst the modern Liverpool One is shopping heaven, with a cheeky cocktail being a must in the many bars. Offering the best of the old and the new, Liverpool was our bestselling destination in the north west in 2018 and we offer a great choice of city centre hotels to cater for all budgets - all you need to do is choose which attractions would suit your groups best!'

Mersey Ferries
The famous Mersey ferries are a great way to see the Liverpool skyline, cruising to Gerry & the Pacemakers’ famous “Ferry Cross the Mersey”! Stop off at Spaceport to explore all things intergalactic or the award winning U-Boat Story for a fascinating insight into a World War II German submarine. Alternatively, enjoy a summer evening cruise – a two hour cruise featuring live music, a bar and spectacular views of the world heritage Waterfront.

Albert Dock
Forming part of the UNESCO World Heritage Waterfront Site, the Albert Dock is one of the country’s top heritage attractions, boasting museums, galleries, restaurants and bars. The Beatles Story is a huge draw for “Fab Four” fans and provides a fascinating insight into the life and times of the Beatles. Tate Liverpool stages international exhibitions of the best in modern art. A 2 hour Magical Mystery Tour also leaves from the Albert Dock and journeys around places connected to the Beatles, including Penny Lane and Strawberry Field. The National Trust also runs tours to Mendips and 20 Forthlin Road, Lennon and McCartney’s childhood homes.

Royal Liver Building
Liverpool’s most iconic landmark is home to a brand new attraction – the Royal Liver Building 360. A unique tower tour, the attraction will include a new lower ground floor visitor centre, a visit to the 10th and 15th floors where spectacular views of the Liverpool and Wirral skyline can be had and a world-class digital show inside the iconic clock tower.

Shopping
Liverpool is a shopper’s paradise and visitors are spoilt for choice at the gleaming new city centre shopping mall, Liverpool One. There are also boutique arcades, independent stores and the recently opened Liverpool shopping park, one of the UK’s biggest retail and leisure destinations a few miles out of the city centre.

NEW! The Floating Grace
Liverpool’s first floating restaurant offers a unique dining experience – enjoy the sights of the Albert Dock and excellent food on a lunch or dinner cruise.

NEW! Strawberry Field
Strawberry Field has a special place in Liverpool’s history. Donated to The Salvation Army, its large Victorian house was a home for the city’s most vulnerable children from 1936 until it finally closed its doors in 2005. It was during its time as a children’s home that John Lennon would play in the grounds and visit the annual summer garden party. And of course, it was the inspiration for the 1967 Beatles’ song, ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’. 50 years since the release of that famous song, the doors to Strawberry Field are open once again. Follow in the footsteps of the Beatles and visit this authentic exhibition dedicated to the story of the place, the song and Lennon’s early life.

Cavern Club
The Beatles played at the Cavern Club nearly 300 times, helping to make it become the most famous live music venue in the world.
