SUGGESTED ITINERARY

Day 1 Arrival
We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2 Brenzone Driver’s Day Off
We spend today at leisure, relaxing at the hotel and enjoying the facilities, or perhaps taking a walk along the lake or a boat trip to Limone sul Garda, one of the most popular destinations on Lake Garda situated on the north western side of the lake. (Please note: local coach hire can be arranged if required.)

Day 3 Malcesine
Today we visit Malcesine, a picturesque medieval town and one of the jewels in Lake Garda’s crown. Its maze of cobbled streets sit on the edge of the blue waters of the lake, in the shadow of breath-taking Monte Baldo, the largest mountain in the Lake Garda region. We can explore its impressive historic castle, Castello Scaligero, and Captain’s Palace. The town also has a pretty old port lined with cafés, restaurants, boutique stores and gelato eateries, so we may wish to enjoy a stop at an outdoor café with a lake view. For anyone wishing to do so, a cable car can be taken to the summit of Monte Baldo for spectacular views across the lake and the Dolomites.

Day 4 Verona
We travel to the world famous city of Verona today, the romantic capital of Europe, situated on the banks of the River Adige and perhaps best known for its association with Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. One of northern Italy’s most attractive cities, boasting a rich array of art and architecture, its heart is dominated by a mammoth and remarkably well-preserved 1st century Roman amphitheatre, the venue for the city’s annual summer opera festival. The Piazza Bra is the largest piazza in Verona, lined with numerous cafés and restaurants. Verona is a shoppers’ paradise with something for everyone, from the daily market in Piazza delle Erbe, where there are plenty of bargains to be found and a great selection of local produce, to the stylish designer shops at Via Mazzini.

Day 5 Sirmione & Garda
This morning we head to wonderful Sirmione, situated at the top of a long peninsula on the southern shore of the lake, with its lovely moated castle and medieval centre. It is a fantastic place to explore or simply sit in one of the many cafés and restaurant and watch the world go by. In the afternoon we return via the ever-popular town of Garda, dotted with age-old cypress trees, pavement cafés and waterfront villas. Its tree-lined promenade stretches along the water’s edge for over a mile and makes for a pleasant stroll, and we could choose to stop for a treat at one of the gelaterias or cafés.

Day 6 Departure
After breakfast, we begin our journey home.
