Brockhole – Lake District Visitor Centre
This great visitor centre overlooking Lake Windermere is well worth a stop for coach groups. Facilities include a museum (free entry) where you can discover more about the Lake District and its stunning landscape. A superb café serving traditional home cooked food makes an ideal lunch stop. Take the opportunity to walk through the beautiful, stunning landscaped gardens for a picture perfect view of breathtaking Lake Windermere.

Windermere Jetty Museum
Windermere Jetty is a world class museum on the shores of Windermere, (the Lake District’s largest lake) with a nationally significant historic boat collection.

Coniston & Steam Yacht Gondola (NT)
Coniston is the third largest lake in the Lake District, about five miles long and half a mile wide and the mountain of the Old Man of Coniston towers above the lake and the village. The Steam Yacht Gondola, is a Victorian steam-powered yacht and is available for tours on Coniston Water. Brantwood, John Ruskin’s home and the Ruskin Museum are also located in Coniston.

Grasmere
Grasmere is one of Cumbria’s most popular villages. The poet William Wordsworth’s home, Dove Cottage, and the Wordsworth Museum are popular attractions in the village. Grasmere is a popular tourist honey pot and offers a wide variety of gift shops, cafés and tearooms.

Lakeland Motor Museum
Lakeland Motor Museum has a unique collection of 30,000 exhibits, including 140 classic cars and motorbikes, all carefully assembled over 50 years. The fascinating collection traces the development of road transport throughout the twentieth century.

Ravenglass & Eskdale Steam Railway
The Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway will take you on a journey from Ravenglass, the only coastal village in the Lake District National Park, across the estuary, through the hills en route to the final destination, some seven miles up the line, to Dalegarth at the foot of England’s highest mountains.

Muncaster Castle, Gardens, Hawk & Owl Centre
The privately owned castle overlooks the Esk River close to the west-coastal town of Ravenglass. The Castle is said to be haunted and visitors enjoy an audio tour, narrated by the Perrington family, who still live in the castle.
