Legendary & Iconic – The Isle of Skye

This seven day tour takes in some of Scotland’s most spectacular and breathtakingly beautiful scenery. Staying on the Isle of Skye for three nights, your groups will have time to discover this truly magical Isle, the largest of the Inner Hebrides and home to some of Scotland's most iconic landscapes.
Day 1 Arrival in Stirling
We arrive at the King Robert Hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2 Pitlochry & Eilean Donan Castle
We make our first coffee stop in the bustling tourist town of Pitlochry situated in the heart of the stunning scenery of Perthshire. We continue our journey north through the magnificent highlands and make a lunch stop at Fort Augustus, a charming village situated at the southern tip of Loch Ness, offering a stunning setting and spectacular views towards Loch Ness. As we continue our journey the scenery becomes even more dramatic through
the Kyle of Lochalsh until we reach Eilean Donan Castle, situated on an island and surrounded by majestic scenery. We explore the inside of the castle before we complete our journey across the famous Skye Bridge to the mystical Isle of Skye, our home for
the next three nights.

Day 3 Armadale Castle
Today we visit Armadale Castle, Gardens & Museum of the Isles. We discover the history of the Highlands and Islands through the story of Clan Donald, its most powerful clan, before enjoying the 46 acres of beautiful woodland gardens surrounding the Castle which offer stunning views from the front lawn across the Sound of Sleat to the Knoydart
Mountains. We then enjoy a light lunch and small glass of wine, beer or soft drink at Armadale before returning to our hotel.

Day 4 Dunvegan Castle, Trotternish & Portree
Today we make our way to the north west corner of Skye to visit famous Dunvegan Castle & Gardens. Built on a rocky outcrop on the shores of Loch Dunvegan (once entirely encircled by the sea) Dunvegan is the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland and has been the ancestral home of the Chiefs of Clan MacLeod for 800 years. After our visit here, we enjoy a scenic drive up the Trotternish Peninsula, home to the Old Man of Storr, before returning to our hotel via the picturesque harbour town of Portree. Set around a natural harbour and fringed by high ground and cliffs, the town is a popular tourist destination.

Day 5 Fort William & Scenic Drive to Stirling
Today we leave Skye behind and return to Stirling. Our first stop is Armadale for a short ferry crossing (30 mins) to Mallaig on the mainland. We continue our scenic journey along the famous A830 to Fort William, situated on the shore of Loch Linnhe, with spectacular views of Ben Nevis in the background. We have free time for lunch here before our journey continues over Rannoch Moor and drops down between the steep sides of magical Glencoe. Amazing mountains such as Buachaille Etive Mor and the Three Sisters loom on either side, with river scenery at the bottom of the glen. We arrive at our hotel for the next two nights, the King Robert, in time for dinner.

Day 6 Stirling Driver's Day Off
Today we explore Stirling at our leisure. Attractions include the Battle of Bannockburn Centre (situated next to the hotel) that uses cutting edge 3D technology to relate the story of this crucial event in Scottish history. With a direct public bus service outside our hotel, the town is just a short ride away. This ancient capital of Scotland lies at the heart of the nation’s history with the streets of the old town winding upwards towards the magnificent Castle, 250ft up on its craggy rock.
