Manchester, the Rolls Royce of Cities - 4 DAY TEA-SER

If you think you know Manchester, you might think again once you’re tried one of our new exclusive tours of delight and discovery. They’re all about the ‘firsts’ that the city has seen and how it changed the world, from technology and the railways to medicine and Rolls Royce. As well as being the birthplace of the industrial revolution, Manchester is jam- packed with history and scientific heritage and we can follow in some very famous footsteps as well as see the city from foot and water.

Day 1 Arrival
We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2 Manchester Tour & Afternoon Tea
This morning we meet our guide for our 2 hour step-on tour of Manchester. Our tour will unveil a host of hidden gems as we learn about some of the ‘firsts’ the city has produced in its long and illustrious history. We see the Bridgewater Canal, uncover the story of the world’s first passenger railway, experience Sackville Park and the story of Alan Turing and walk in the footsteps of LS Lowry. Having built up a thirst, we relax with a drink in one of the many vibrant pubs, with time to reflect on what we have seen, before returning to our hotel to finish with a flourish; a scrumptious 2 hour afternoon tea washed down with unlimited Prosecco – now that’s a treat!
This fabulous walking tour is exclusive to Albatross Travel.

Day 3 Salford, Manchester River Cruise & Imperial War Museum
Today is all about Salford, a revitalised neighbourhood of Manchester that continues to grow and attract businesses and visitors alike. We kick-off the morning by boarding the Princess Katherine for a 1 hour cruise around Salford Quays and the Manchester Ship Canal, during which we get an insight into the history of the area with a unique view of Manchester, including MediaCity, Old Trafford and the disused docks. After time for lunch our next stop is the Imperial War Museum, one of the world’s leading museums of its kind. A purpose-built and poignant exhibition, we can walk through a timeline from the First World War through to present day, accompanied by voices of the ordinary people whose lives were torn apart by the various conflicts.

Day 4 Departure
After breakfast, we make our way home.
