Meandering along the Moselle

The wine-making village of Lösnich is an excellent location from which to tour the beautiful Moselle Valley, from Trier in the south to Koblenz in the north, and the friendly owners of the Hotel Heil are the perfect hosts to provide your customers with a memorable, relaxing stay...complete with wine tasting, of course!
Day 1 Arrival
We arrive at our hotel before dinner.

Day 2 Cochem & Traben-Trarbach
This morning we travel to the picturesque village of Cochem with free time to explore the half-timbered houses and beautiful medieval castle, Reichsburg. Cochem offers a large number of wine shops, as you might expect in this region, and most proprietors are keen to provide you with tasting opportunities. In the afternoon we continue to the riverside village of TrabenTrarbach, once the second largest wine trading town in Europe. It is famed for its extensive wine cellars which we explore on a guided tour, after which we enjoy a glass of Moselle wine.

Day 3 Trier & Bernkastel-Kues
This morning, we travel southwards along the Moselle Valley to the ancient Roman city of Trier. We have free time here to explore Roman heritage including the UNESCO protected Porta Nigra, an ancient gate and the best preserved Roman structure north of the Alps. There is also the well-preserved amphitheatre and the magnificent cathedral, Germany’s oldest! In the afternoon we drive along the river to the enchanting medieval wine village of Bernkastel-Kues where we have free time to explore the old town with its fairytale, half-timbered houses. This 700 year old wine town is famous for its Riesling, so be sure to experience one of the traditional wine taverns!

Day 4 Koblenz, Ehrenbreitstein Fortress & Rhine Cruise
After breakfast this morning, we make our way to Koblenz, which is framed by four low mountain ranges in the Rhine Valley and situated where the Moselle and Rhine rivers meet. We start our day with a cable car journey over the Rhine River to the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, the second largest preserved fortress in Europe. We enjoy amazing views over Koblenz and the rivers before having free time to explore the fortress which is now home to the Landesmuseum Koblenz with diverse exhibitions. We finish the day with a cruise along the Rhine with wine tasting from Koblenz to Braubach.

Day 5 Departure
After breakfast we begin our journey home.
