Day 1 Arrival in Newcastle
We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2 Newcastle 17/0 mile round trip
This morning we visit Newcastle-upon-Tyne and have free time to explore the city’s many attractions such as the Discovery Centre (free entry). The museum tells the story of life in Newcastle and Tyneside, from the area’s renowned maritime history to fashion through the ages. At midday we meet at the Quayside to board for a 2 hour cruise which sails to Ryton Willows Nature Reserve and Newburn Countryside Park. The cruise take us under eleven of the Tyne’s bridges and offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the river’s wildlife. Please note, day of cruise is subject to 2018 timetable.

Day 3 Alnwick Castle & Gardens 52/75 mile round trip
Today we make our way to the medieval market town of Alnwick which still retains many of its cobbled streets, narrow alleys and fine stone buildings. We will visit Alnwick Castle, one of the finest medieval castles in England and famously known as ‘Hogwarts’ in the Harry Potter movies.

Day 4 Holy Island & Bamburgh Castle 110/132 mile return trip
After breakfast we take a drive along the scenic heritage coastline and cross the tidal causeway to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, home to Lindisfarne Castle. There will be some leisurely time to explore and have lunch before our afternoon visit to Bamburgh Castle. Perched on rocks at the edge of the sea, this castle boasts magnificent views of the Farne Islands. We call at the pretty fishing village of Seahouses before we return to the hotel Please note, today is subject to tidal times.

Day 5 Departure
Today, we make our way home.
