Day 1 Arrival
Departing our local area this morning, we make our way to our hotel and settle in prior to dinner this evening.

Day 2 Chester 26 mile round trip
Today, we will explore the beautiful, historic city of Chester which has the most complete city walls and largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain, plus a 1000 year old cathedral and 700 year old unique shopping rows. We can enjoy a 30 minute river cruise on the River Dee before visiting The High Cross at midday to hear the Town Crier’s public proclamations (May – Aug). We can enjoy lunch in Chester Cathedral’s 13th century Refectory, where monks used to dine many centuries ago, before taking a self-guided tour of the Medieval Cathedral and discovering the extraordinary story behind its imposing walls.

Day 3 Llandudno 75 mile round trip
Today, we will enjoy a lovely drive via Colwyn Bay to the ‘Queen of Welsh’ resorts, Llandudno with its wonderful beaches and lovely wide promenade. Llandudno is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing day, with its beautiful Victorian architecture and Edwardian elegance, pier and excellent selection of high street stores and attractions. During our day at leisure we can take a ride to the top of the Great Orme on the beautifully restored tramway. The tramway climbs 1500m and has an exhibition at the Halfway Station. From the summit, there are outstanding views across Anglesey and the peaks of Snowdonia.

Day 4 Port Sunlight, Lady Lever Art Gallery & Ness Botanical Gardens 37 mile round trip
Setting off from the hotel this morning, we visit Port Sunlight, the village that William Hesketh Lever built for his Sunlight Soap factory workers in 1888. Here we will meet our step-on guide who will give us an informative 60 minute talk as we drive around the village. Following our fascinating tour we visit the Port Sunlight Museum, Lady Lever Art Gallery and tea room before we make our way to Ness Botanic Gardens. The gardens have stunning views over the dramatic Dee Estuary, with 64 spectacular acres of landscaped and natural gardens overflowing with horticultural treasures including rhododendrons, azaleas and a beautiful rock garden.
