Northern Ireland Highlights

Due to the popularity of Northern Ireland, we have put together a 6 day tour which includes visits to Derry-Londonderry, the Causeway coast and Belfast, visiting many of the key highlights Northern Ireland has to offer in one holiday.

GREAT NEWS: After Brexit (deal or no deal), Passports still won’t be needed for entry into Ireland. How’s that for a great deal!
Day 1 Arrival
We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2 A Beautiful Train Journey & the Giants Causeway
Today, we enjoy a train journey described by Michael Palin as being ‘one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world’. En route from Derry to Coleraine, the track runs alongside the sands of one of the most unspoilt beaches in Ireland, whilst on the opposite side of the track, we pass the cliffs of Downhill and the impressive Binevenagh Mountain. This afternoon we visit the extraordinary Giant’s Causeway, the only UNESCO World Heritage Site in Northern Ireland, flanked by the wild North Atlantic Ocean on one side and a landscape of dramatic cliffs on the other. We visit the award winning Visitor Centre before making our way back to our hotel.

Day 3 Derry-Londonderry Driver's Day Off
This morning, we meet our informative guide for a 2 hour walking tour of Derry. After lunch, we visit the Tower Museum and enjoy a 1 hour guided tour which will give us an insight into the political conflicts that have shaped the city and the country at large. We then visit the neo-gothic Guildhall (entry free of charge) one of Derry’s most recognisable landmarks, with its stunning stained glass windows and unique history before spending the rest of the day at leisure exploring Derry.

Day 4 Seamus Heaney & Belfast
Today we journey to Belfast, stopping en-route at the Seamus Heaney Homeplace. Discover the moving story of Ulster’s brilliant Nobel Prize-winning poet and playwright, characterised as “probably the best-known poet in the world” by the Telegraph, upon his death in 2013. We stop for a soup & sandwich lunch at the authentic Thatched Inn close to where Seamus Heaney grew up before arriving at our next hotel, the AC by Marriott Belfast, on the banks of the River Lagan. We can spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the city centre.

Day 5 Hillsborough Castle & Titanic Belfast
We begin our day with a visit to Hillsborough Castle, an official government residence in Northern Ireland and the official residence of Queen Elizabeth II and other members of the British royal family when they visit Northern Ireland. We enjoy a guided tour of the Georgian country house and its gardens. After lunch we return to Belfast, where we enter one of the city’s most well-known attractions, the incredible Titanic Experience Belfast, the world's largest Titanic exhibition and a must-see for any tour of Belfast. Housed in an iconic 6 floor building, this state-of-the-art visitor experience tells the story of the “unsinkable” ship, from her conception in Belfast in the early 1900s, through her construction and launch in 1911, to her famous maiden voyage and tragic end.
