PACKAGED ITINERARY

Day 1 Arrival
We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2 Lanhydrock House & Bodmin & Wenford Railway
We enjoy a leisurely breakfast this morning and some free time before we head to the magnificent late Victorian Lanhydrock House. We enjoy time at leisure exploring the beautiful gardens and the two sides of Victorian life in this stately home, from the “below stairs” kitchens, nurseries and servants’ quarters, to the luxurious family areas, elegant dining room and spacious bedrooms of “upstairs” living. In the afternoon, we enjoy a return journey on the Bodmin & Wenford Railway, the only full size heritage railway still operated by steam locomotives. Our journey from Bodmin General station to Bodmin Parkway takes us along the unusually steep track that climbs through the scenic Cornish countryside. (This is day 4 if staying at the Pentire Hotel).

Day 3 Truro & The Lost Gardens of Heligan
This morning, we make our way to the market town city of Truro, where its popular farmers’ market will be taking place. We can enjoy a stroll around the stalls before exploring the town’s other attractions, including the stunning Gothic Revival Cathedral. After lunch, we head to the amazing Lost Gardens of Heligan where we enjoy a leisurely 1 hour guided tour of the main features of the Northern Gardens followed by a cream tea. With over 200 acres of garden paradise to explore, we then have time at leisure to explore more of the breathtaking surroundings, including the spectacular jungle! En route back to our hotel we enjoy a photo-stop at picturesque Charlestown and its Grade II Listed Georgian harbour and tall ships, famous for featuring in many TV programmes and films.

Day 4 Padstow & Prideaux Place
After breakfast, we make our way to Padstow, where we spend time at leisure exploring this charming fishing port and famous foodie destination thanks to its reputation for fabulous seafood restaurants and links to the celebrity chef Rick Stein. In the afternoon, we visit Prideaux Place, a magnificent Elizabethan manor house
perched above Padstow’s busy harbour. We enjoy a guided tour of the house and its rooms, which are in constant use by the family, before exploring the beautiful gardens at leisure and enjoying the views. (This is day 2 if staying at the Pentire Hotel).

Day 5 Departure (The Esplanade Hotel)
After breakfast, we make our way home.
