Fishers Hotel is a great base for a driver’s day off and also gives groups a chance to explore the charming resort of Pitlochry.
Day 1 Arrival in Pitlochry
We arrive to enjoy a welcome drink with time to unpack and relax before dinner.

Day 2 Blair Castle, House of Bruar & Blair Athol Distillery 22 mile round trip
This morning, our journey takes us into the stunning scenery of the Cairngorm National Park. Our first stop is Blair Castle, the ancient seat of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl and home to Europe’s last remaining private army, the Atholl Highlanders. It is one of Scotland’s finest settings in the heart of Highland Perthshire. We will enjoy a tour of the superb rooms and the fascinating collections they contain followed by free time to visit the castle garden, grounds and gift shop. We will make a lunch stop and enjoy free time at The House of Bruar, which sits like a castle at the foot of the spectacular Bruar Falls, and is widely acknowledged as Scotland’s most prestigious independent store. Our final visit of the day is to Blair Athol Distillery, established in 1798 and one of the oldest working distilleries in Scotland. We will have time to sample the world famous malt whisky before heading back to our hotel.

Day 3 Mountain Safari, Red Deer Centre & Queens View 42 mile round trip
An exciting day today as we drive to Aberfeldy for our ‘unique journey of discovery’. We will be met by our kilted guide, when we will transfer to a 4x4 vehicle to enjoy the fantastic scenery and wildlife of Scotland close up. We may be lucky enough to see the majestic red deer, the famous grouse, the elusive mountain hare or the soaring golden eagle as we travel through forests, mountains and moors on private hill tracks. Included in the Mountain Safari are tea, coffee, Kenmore Shortbread and a dram of Dewars Whisky in one of the mountain bothies, surrounded on all sides by inspiring mountain views. We also visit the Red Deer Centre where we come face to face with Britain’s largest native land mammal – the majestic red deer, as well as discovering the natural wonders of Highland Perthshire on a fun and inspiring short walk. We return to the hotel via a scenic drive through Loch Rannoch and stop at ‘Queens View’ at the head of Loch Tummel, one of the most photographed areas of Scotland said to have been named after Queen Victoria following her visit in 1866.

(Up to 6 people can be taken per vehicle. Maximum number for this excursion is 48 people. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.)

Day 4 Pitlochry Driver’s Day Off
Relax in your hotel and enjoy a short stroll in the town of Pitlochry. Popular for over 150 years as a holiday destination, the town boasts Queen Victoria as one of its original visitors. Enjoy a stroll along Main Street in this charming resort with many attractive shops, bars and tearooms. For the more adventurous, take a train for the day to Inverness, Perth or Stirling (no change required and station located behind the hotel).
