PACKAGED ITINERARY

Day 1 Arrival
We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2 Pitzal Valley & Wildspitzbahn Cable Car
This morning, we travel to the beautiful Pitztal Valley where we board the Gletscherexpress cable car which will transport us 2,840m above sea level, where we find the bottom station of the Wildspitzbahn cable car which will take us all the way up to 3,440m – the highest point of any ski resort in the Tyrol region. As well as magnificent views of the surrounding mountains, including the Wildspitze (Tyrol’s highest mountain), we find the highest café in Austria, Café 3.440, where we can sit on the large terrace and marvel at the unique panoramic views before our descent back down to earth. Please note, high altitude may cause shortness of breath and possibly light headedness for a brief period, which is quite normal. Anybody with a specific illness who may be adversely affected by high altitude should consult their doctor for advice on the suitability of this journey before travelling.

Day 3 Innsbruck & Swarovski Crystal World
We head for Innsbruck this morning, capital city of the Tyrol, and one of the most wonderful places to visit in Europe. We enjoy time at leisure to explore this picture-book city, with its late medieval Altstadt, grand Habsburg palace and baroque cathedral. This beautiful alpine destination has twice hosted the Winter Olympics and boasts historical buildings, breathtaking scenery and snow-capped mountains. In the afternoon, we visit the sparkling world of Swarovski Crystal World where a rich collection of designs are displayed in 17 Chambers of Wonder. From the spectacular Crystal Dome to the winter wonderland of the Silent Light Dome and its sparkling crystal tree made up of 150,000 Swarovski crystals, to the new Chandelier of Grief “infinity mirror room”, each dome has been designed by internationally recognised artists to interpret crystal in their own unique ways.

Day 4 Imst & Starkenberg Castle Brewery
We visit the nearby town of Imst today. Rich in history, the small town of Imst offers visitors magnificent views of the surrounding region and, thanks to its position at the foot of the Lechtal Alps at an altitude of 827m, it enjoys many hours of sunshine. We enjoy a warming drink of mulled wine and embark on a horse-drawn carriage ride around the winter landscape before we enjoy a guided tour of the 200 year old Starkenberg Castle Brewery, famous for its very unique beer spa pools – a world first! We learn about the brewing process and visit the brewery museum and shop before beer tasting in the impressive medieval Great Hall.

Day 5 Feldkirch & St Anton
This morning, we spend time at leisure in the well-preserved old town of Feldkirch. Located at the foot of wooded mountains, vineyards and a castle-crowned hill, its medieval lanes, home to towers and pastel coloured houses, are a joy to explore. In the afternoon, we head for the charming and famous ski resort of St Anton, where we will be met with genuine Tyrolean hospitality and spectacular scenery. We have free time to explore, perhaps taking in an exhilarating ride on the cable car, visiting the pretty church of St Anthony of Padua, exploring the Museum of St Anton and just sitting back and soaking up the stunning Tyrolean atmosphere.

Day 6 Departure
We make our way home today.
