Days 1 - 2 UK to Germany via North Sea
We travel from the UK to Holland via an overnight sailing on the North Sea, to Germany for our overnight stay.

Day 3 Hirtshals via Kolding & Aalborg
We depart from Germany and begin our travels through Denmark taking a lunch stop at Denmark’s friendliest town, Kolding. We continue our journey with an afternoon stop and some free time in Aalborg. We make our way to Hirtshals where we board our evening overnight ferry to Bergen, Norway.

Day 4 Eidjford via Bergen
We arrive in Bergen with free time for lunch in the city before we begin our journey to Eidfjord. We cross the Hardanger Bridge, the longest suspension Bridge in Norway. We arrive at the Quality Hotel Vøringsfoss, our home for the next 5 nights, in time for dinner.

Day 5 Norheimsund, Steinstø & Utne
We start our morning with a spectacular scenic drive along the eastern shore of the Hardangerfjord before arriving at the Hardanger Maritime Museum in Norheimsund. We enjoy a guided tour of the living museum which focuses on maritime culture and handicrafts. We watch a short film and tour the boatyard, learning of the importance of its trade in the area with an opportunity to try some rope making! We then make our way to Steinstø fruit farm for a tasting and homemade lunch at a family-run farm. We take a tour and learn the history and process of fruit juice making in a fabulous setting overlooking Hardangerfjord. After lunch we drive to Kvanndal to take a short ferry crossing to Utne where we experience a fabulous view of the fjord. We enjoy a guided tour of the Hardanger Folk Museum. This is a regional museum of the Hardanger region which has been collecting artefacts since 1901 and is one of the oldest museums of its kind in Norway. We tour the exhibitions of traditional folk costumes, embroidery and the Hardnger fiddle. We have the opportunity to visit the outbuildings of the museum which consist of 20 houses from the middle ages to the 20th century. We then take a short ferry crossing from Utne to Kinsarvik where we experience a different part of the magnificent fjord as we return to the hotel in time for dinner.

Day 6 Eidfjord Driver’s Day Off
This morning we start the day with a relaxing 90 minute circular cruise on the inner waters of the Hardangerfjord, the 2nd longest Fjord in Norway. During our cruise we encounter spellbinding scenery with cultural and natural gems side by side. We return to Eidfjord where we will have free time for lunch. This afternoon we meet at the front of the hotel ready for our 1 hour journey on the Trolltrain, where we tour the village and ride into the Hæreid Plateau Mountains where we witness Viking graves, Eidfjord church and a great view of the fjord. There will be picture stops along with audio commentary on board. We return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 7 Odda, Lofthus & Vøringfossen
This morning our scenic journey begins along Sørfjorden, a 38 km fjord located on the arm of the Hardangerfjord. Our first visit is in Odda for a guided tour of the Norwegian Museum of Hydropower & Industry, a monumental power station where we learn the exciting history of waterfalls that changed Norway from the early 1900s to modern times. We visit the exhibits and watch a short film, there is free time for lunch in the café. After lunch we make our way to Lofthus, with fantastic fjord and glacier views, for a picture stop and free time for a wander. We then make our way to Vøringfossen where we see one of the most famous attractions in Norway, the Vøringfossen waterfall with a free fall of 145m. We complete our day with a visit to the Hardangervidda Nature Centre. With exhibitions split across six different sections over three floors, the museum tells the story of nature, climate and environment. We also watch a 20 minute film where we take a visual helicopter experience through fjords, mountains, waterfalls and canyons.

Day 8 Flåm & Nærøyfjord
This morning we drive to Flåm where we board the Flåm Railway, one of Norway’s leading attractions, for a return journey to Myrdal. We take a spectacular ride with panoramic views of some of the wildest and most striking landscapes. We journey through the steep and narrow Flåm Valley, making stops at the most picturesque locations, and can enjoy the included packed lunch. We then set sail from Flåm for our spectacular and unforgettable 2 hour cruise on the Nærøyfjord to Gudvangen. The Nærøyfjord is a branch of the mighty Sognefjord and considered to be among the most scenic fjord area in the world. We will experience this UNSECO World Heritage Site with its outstanding natural beauty, derived from its narrow and steep-sides crystal rock walls.

Day 9 - 12 Departure
We bid farewell to Norway and embark on an overnight ferry crossing from Bergen to Hirtshals in Denmark. We travel through Denmark and overnight in northern Germany. We then travel through Germany, to our port in Holland for our final overnight ferry crossing back to the UK.
