Royal Connections

Buckingham Palace  - Open from late Jul - Oct
Buckingham Palace serves as both the office and London residence of Her Majesty the Queen. It is one of the few working royal palaces remaining in the world today. Once the Queen departs on her summer holiday programme, Buckingham Palace opens its doors to visitors. You can see the 19 magnificent State Rooms which provide the setting for ceremonial occasions and official entertaining. All rooms are furnished with many of the greatest treasures from the Royal Collection.
The Summer Opening of Buckingham Palace in 2019 will include a special exhibition. In 2018 the exhibition marked the 70th birthday of The Prince of Wales.

Clarence House Open August
The official residence of HRH The Prince of Wales and one of the last remaining aristocratic townhouses in London, Clarence House is home to much of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother’s art collection and is unique amongst royal houses for having an atmosphere of a much loved family home.

The Household Cavalry Museum Open daily throughout the year
Located within Horse Guards in Whitehall, The Household Cavalry Museum is one of the city’s most historic buildings. Dating from 1750, it is still the headquarters of the Household Division (the Queen’s personal guard) and a living museum. The experience comes alive with compelling personal stories, first-hand accounts of the troopers’ rigorous
and demanding training, interactive displays and stunning rare objects. With colourful sentry changes every day on the hour, the museum also showcases unique British pageantry at its best.

The Royal Mews Open from Feb - Nov
Home to the historic royal carriages and coaches, the most dazzling of all being the Gold State  Coach, which has been used at every coronation  since George IV in 1821. See the Diamond Jubilee State Coach, unveiled during the State Opening of Parliament in 2014. Built to celebrate The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012, it is only the second coach to be built for the Royal Household in over a century and has successfully combined traditional
craftsmanship with modern technology.

Afternoon Tea at The Rubens Hotel
A ritual fit for Royalty!
There is no better place to enjoy a traditional afternoon tea than the Rubens Hotel overlooking the Royal Mews of Buckingham Palace. The pastry kitchen at The Rubens is led by one of London’s most talented pastry chefs, producing the finest pastries and cakes. With a reputation as one of the best in London, The Rubens pays respect to the tradition of Afternoon Tea whilst incorporating fresh twists along the way.
