The Royal Family have strong connections to Scotland and this tour traces their footsteps as we visit the Palace of Holyrood and Glamis Castle. Our new packaged tour also has a strong nautical theme and features a Firth of Forth boat cruise as well as Captain Scott's ship, Discovery and the Royal Yacht Britannia.

Day 1 Arrival in Kinross
We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2 Firth of Forth & Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway
This morning, we travel to Hawes Pier and board the Maid of the Forth for a 90 minute cruise, during which we hear on-board commentary pointing out the spectacular Forth Rail Bridge, Inchgarvie Island, Hound Point Oil Terminal and Haystack Rock (where
we can watch the seals) and Inchcolm Abbey. In the afternoon we enjoy a scenic 10 mile return journey with afternoon tea on the Bo'ness & Kinneil Steam railway along the Forth Estuary, through woodlands, past waterfalls and over the Avon Viaduct. Afterwards, we have time to discover the Museum of Scottish Railways, Scotland’s largest railway museum.

Day 3 Glamis Castle & Discovery Point
Today, we enjoy a guided tour of Glamis Castle, renowned for being Scotland’s most beautiful castle. We learn about the Castle which is famous for being the legendary setting of Shakespeare's Macbeth, the childhood home of HM Queen Elizabeth, The Queen
Mother and the birthplace of Princess Margaret. In the afternoon, we have free time for lunch in Dundee, perhaps visiting the new V & A Museum of Design. We then visit Discovery Point and explore Captain Scott’s ship, Discovery, which he sailed to Antarctica.

Day 4 Holyroodhouse & Royal Yacht Britannia
This morning, we visit Edinburgh and The Palace of Holyroodhouse, the queen’s official Scottish residence, before enjoying free time to explore the city more. In the afternoon we visit the Royal Yacht Britannia, the Queens former floating royal residence for more than 40 years.

Day 5 Departure
After breakfast we begin our journey home.
