PACKAGED ITINERARY
Day 1 Arrival in Perthshire
We arrive in time for dinner at Fishers Hotel, Pitlochry.

Day 2 Arrival in Thurso
After a hearty Scottish breakfast, we begin our drive through the stunning and scenic Cairngorm National Park, Britain’s largest mountain range. We arrive in time for dinner at the Royal Hotel in Thurso.

Day 3 Orkney Isles
We enjoy free time in Thurso before our ferry crossing to the mystical Orkney Isles. We meet our local guide who will be with us throughout our visit to the island. Our tour takes us by The Churchill Barriers, the construction of which was ordered by Winston Churchill after the tragic torpedoing of the battleship, Royal Oak, in Scapa Flow during 1939. We will visit the Italian Chapel, ‘the miracle of camp 60’, which was built by Italian prisoners
during World War II, followed by the mystical ancient settlement of Skara Brae, uncovered by a storm in 1850. This ancient settlement is older than Stonehenge and the amazingly preserved rooms provide us with a unique insight into prehistoric human living. Our tour continues with a visit to Skaill House, one of Orkney’s top tourist attractions, and the finest mansion on the island, steeped in 5,000 years of history, after which we continue on to the mystical Ring of Brodgar to view the standing stones, reminiscent of those at Stonehenge and Avebury, having been constructed around 2500 - 2000BC. We finish our time in Orkney at Kirkwall where dinner is provided at a local restaurant. After
dinner, we will board our overnight ferry to the Shetland Islands.

Day 4 Shetland Isles
After breakfast on board, we arrive in Lerwick and meet our guide for the day. We make our way southwards to the tip of the headland to visit the Jarlshof Prehistoric and Norse Settlement. This fantastically preserved ruin was only revealed by a storm at the end of the 19th century. Over 4,000 years of history are contained within this site and it remains a fantastic insight into life on the islands. We return northwards towards the capital of Lerwick, where we will enjoy free time for lunch. In the afternoon, we visit Scalloway Castle and Museum, which tells the fascinating story of Scalloway and the "Shetland Bus". Later in the afternoon, we board our overnight ferry where dinner is served on board.

Day 5 Aberdeen & Stirling
On arrival in Aberdeen, breakfast is served before we begin our journey with a scenic drive through some of Scotland’s most picturesque countryside. We arrive at our final hotel, the King Robert in Stirling, where we can relax before dinner.

Day 6 Departure
Today, we must make our way home.
