Spring time at Kew, Chiswick House & Wisley

Chiswick House Camellias (Feb/Mar 2020)
Combine your visit to Kew with a visit to the glass houses of Chiswick House (just 2 miles from Kew) to view the 33 heritage camellias in a world-renowned  collection.
Brought by ship from China in the 18th century, exotic camellia plants were a luxury
commodity. The Duke of Devonshire built a 300 foot glass house, one of the largest in the world at the time, to protect his collection of plants. Enjoy the riot of colour when the trees bloom in early spring, heralding the annual Camellia Show.

Kew Orchids (Feb/Mar 2020)
At Kew, the Festival of Orchids highlights the most beautiful species from around the world. This annual event is enough to brighten any winter’s day.

RHS Wisley
RHS Wisley offers a beautiful and relaxing experience throughout the year, where
groups can take in the majestic beauty of The Glasshouse, the stunning Rock Garden or the Mixed Borders, all cared for to perfection. A centre of education for gardeners of all ages, Wisley offers the chance to view alpine plants at close quarters in the Alpine Display Houses as well as glean planting, design and cultivation ideas for smaller gardens from the demonstration and model gardens. Planting varies enormously, from the mingling of herbaceous perennials and shrubs in the famous Mixed Borders to the lower maintenance, prairie-style planting in the Glasshouse Borders.

Why not time your visit to coincide with one of the special events that take place each year at Wisley…
• Surrey Sculpture Society Trail August & September • Annual Flower Show September
• Taste of Autumn October • Christmas Craft and Design Fair December
• Christmas Glow December • Spring Craft Fair 2020 (dates TBC)
