Day 1 Arrival
After departing our local area this morning, we will arrive at our hotel this afternoon, enjoying a welcome drink while our bags are taken to our room.

Day 2 The Gower Peninsula 50 mile round trip
This morning we travel to the Gower Heritage Centre where we meet our fully qualified guide for a step-on guided tour of the highlights of Gower. During our tour we will learn how The Gower was the first place in Britain to be named an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and we will view many highlights of the area including the heights of Cefn Bryn, the historic “Arthur’s Stone” and the breathtaking beauty of Rhossili beach and the Worm’s Head. Following our tour we return to the Gower Heritage Centre for a traditional Welsh Cream Tea. We then travel to the Mumbles, a coastal village steeped in tradition and history with an 18th century lighthouse, a Victorian pier, high-end shops, quirky galleries and craft shops where we can enjoy lunch at leisure and spend the afternoon relaxing.

Day 3 National Botanic Garden & Swansea 48 mile round trip
Today, we will visit the most popular garden in Wales, the National Botanic Garden. We will explore the Garden Lakes, the Japanese, Bee and Bog Gardens, the Great Glasshouse, the Ice House and the Mirror Pool, to name just a few of the attractions. In the afternoon, we will return to Swansea via the Marina and the National Waterfront Museum (free entry) in which the Welsh industrial and maritime heritage story is told through a unique visitor experience, housed within a listed waterfront warehouse.

Day 4 Royal Mint & Penderyn Distillery 89 mile round trip
This morning we travel to Llantrisant where the Royal Mint has opened its visitor centre. Here we will be greeted by our Visitor host and, after an introduction, we will be led to one of the manufacturing areas to discover how blank pieces of metal are made before being struck to become coins. We can see the striking hall from a viewing area and will even have the opportunity to strike our own coin to take home! (Extra charge, not included). We then have time to explore the interactive exhibition at our own pace and visit the gift shop and café. Please note, visitors are required to undertake security checks and wear high-visibility vests. In the afternoon, we enjoy a visit to the famous Penderyn Distillery Visitor Centre, the only distillery in Wales and one of the smallest distilleries in the world. On arrival, we will be greeted by our tour guide who will take us through to the exhibition area and the distillery itself including the mill, mash tun and innovative single copper pot Penderyn stills (unique to the distillery). After our informative tour we will have the opportunity to sample a drink in the Tasting Bar!

Day 5 Departure
After breakfast, we begin our journey home.
