Swiss Alpine Grandeur

As one of the most beautiful parts of Switzerland, I fell in love with this area immediately. With a magical combination of some of the most breathtaking alpine views and unique attractions, any visit has a definite wow-factor!
Day 1 Arrival
We arrive at our hotel before dinner.

Day 2 Meiringen Valley & Ballenberg
After a leisurely breakfast, we board our coach for our excursion to Meiringen and the famous Reichenbach Falls. We make a return journey to the summit on the funicular to view the waterfall. After our descent, we make the short journey to the end of the valley to view the Aareschlucht Gorge, one of the most impressive natural phenomena of the area. We enjoy time to walk along the easy pathway that follows the gorge and marvel at how this has been carved out over the centuries. After free time in Meiringen for lunch, we then spend the afternoon at the Ballenberg Open Air Museum, giving us an insight into how life in Switzerland has evolved over history.

Day 3 Lucerne
Today we enjoy an excursion to the historical lakeside city of Lucerne. With an enviable location on the shore of Lake Lucerne this city has some marvellous visits including the famous Wooden Bridge and magnificent Jesuit Church. In addition, we will enjoy a 1 hour circular cruise to allow us an alternative view of the lake.

Day 4 Brienz Rothorn Bahn Driver's Day Off
This morning, we will depart from the hotel by boat with a short cruise across the lake to Brienz, where we will board the famous Brienz Rothorn Bahn. This charming steam railway winds its way up the mountainside to the peak of the Rothorn. After admiring the views, we return to our hotel by boat.

Day 5 Schilthorn
After breakfast, we board our coach for the journey along the waterfall-lined valley of Lauterbrunnen. We board the cable car for our journey to the summit of the famous Schilthorn, made famous by its association with James Bond. With its breathtaking views of the surrounding summits and the James Bond Experience, this is one of the highlights of the tour.

Day 6 Departure
After breakfast we begin our journey home.
