Take a Giant Step on the Causeway Coast

Based at the fantastic, newly refurbished Dunadry Hotel, now part of the McKeever Hotel group, our new packaged itinerary showcases the very best of this legendary area of Northern Ireland, taking in the mythical Giant’s Causeway, Belfast, Mount Stewart, the Ulster Folk & Transport Museum and the brand new Glenarm Distillery, located on one of the most scenic coastal routes in the world - don’t just take our word for it, see for yourself!

Day 1 Arrival
We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2 Giants Causeway (NT) & Glenarm Distillery
This morning, we visit the extraordinary Giant’s Causeway, the only UNESCO World Heritage Site in Northern Ireland. Flanked by the wild North Atlantic Ocean on one side and a landscape of dramatic cliffs on the other, for centuries the Giant’s Causeway has inspired artists, stirred scientific debate and captured the imagination of all who see it. The mystery and stories of the landscape are explained in the award winning Visitor Centre and there is a shuttle bus available for the less mobile to gain easy access to the stones. In the afternoon, we travel along the spectacular Antrim coastal route, voted one of the top 5 scenic coastal roads in the world, to the brand new Glenarm Distillery. Located in Glenarm, the oldest village in Ireland, in an amazing setting by the coast, we enjoy a welcome cocktail followed by a guided tour and tasting of both whiskey and gin!

Day 3 Belfast & Titanic Harbour Boat Tour
We spend today in Belfast, starting with a 2 hour step-on guided tour of the city’s most historically important sites and most famous points of interest before embarking on a guided boat tour of the equally famous Titanic Harbour. After enjoying tea and scones, we set off on our tour which, as well as embracing the Titanic story, tells the story of Belfast’s rich maritime heritage and how the port has developed from its industrial shipbuilding roots to the major tourist attraction it is today. We spend the rest of our day exploring the city at leisure (with the option of adding Titanic Belfast or HMS Caroline to our itinerary).

Day 4 Mount Stewart (NT) & Ulster Folk & Transport Museum
This morning, we visit Mount Stewart, an 18th century mansion with lavish interiors and world class landscaped grounds, recently voted one of the top ten gardens in the world. The garden reflects a rich tapestry of design and great planting artistry that was the hallmark of Edith, Lady Londonderry. In the afternoon we travel to the Ulster Folk & Transport Museum where we experience what life was like in Northern Ireland over 100 years ago, and explore one of the most comprehensive transport collections in Europe. We encounter costumed locals demonstrating traditional crafts, farm dwellings, schools and shops as well as majestic locomotives, horse-drawn carriages and vintage vehicles.

Day 5 Departure
We make our way home today.
