Tea Time in Greenwich 2018

With a rich maritime, scientific, architectural and royal heritage, Greenwich is not short on history.

Four sites make up Royal Museums Greenwich - The National Maritime Museum, the Royal Observatory, Queen's House and the Cutty Sark, perhaps the most famous clipper of all. This amazing ship, with its intricate cat's cradle of ropes, masts and on-board interactive displays, evokes the sights, sounds and smells of life on the ocean wave as its fascinating 144 year history unfolds.
Suggested Itinerary
With so much to see and do we've put together a two-night short break featuring just a few of the highlights.

Day 1 Arrive at the Novotel London Greenwich
Free time to explore Greenwich, maybe explore Greenwich Market featuring independent shops and around 120 stalls of designer fashion, homewares, toys and gifts - and it is under cover, so you can browse come rain or shine. The beauty of the market is its intimacy; the stallholders are all passionate about their wares and happy to have a friendly chat.

Day 2 Greenwich
Start with a visit to the Royal Observatory, famous as the site at which the rest of the world sets its clocks, you can learn about Greenwich Mean Time and stand on the Prime Meridian Line at the Royal Observatory, taking advantage of the audio guided tour, followed by a visit to the Astronomy Centre with its stunning images of space from around the world. Just a pleasant walk through the beautiful Greenwich Royal Park, a feature of the 2012 London Olympics to the National Maritime Museum, with free time to explore.

The Cutty Sark is just a short walk away. Stand on the main deck and marvel at the towering masts and 11 miles of rigging, take the helm of the ship's wheel and enjoy fabulous views of the River Thames. Experience what life was like on board a historic sailing ship and get a taste of life as a seafaring Victorian. Walk underneath its gleaming copper hull for an awe-inspiring view of the ship and reach up and touch a piece of maritime history! No better way to end the visit than with a quintessentially British afternoon tea, served underneath the very ship built to bring tea to Britain!
