Grant says...
“A really unique feature of the Hotel Alex is the jacuzzi bath in every room and don’t forget to check out the hand-carved woodwork throughout!”

Kate says...
“When in Davos why not treat yourself to some luxury Swiss chocolates, the shops there are great!”
Day 1 Arrival
This afternoon, we arrive to a very warm welcome from the staff at Hotel Alex in Zermatt, with time to settle in before dinner and admire the stunning mountain views.

Day 2 Zermatt Driver’s Day Off
Today, we spend time at leisure in our spectacular resort. The day is free to explore the pedestrianised town, with its chic shops, leading to the Matterhorn museum. This museum provides a wonderful insight into the history of both the mountain and the village itself and is an excellent introduction to the area. After a short visit, why not experience the Matterhorn first-hand by boarding the train to the summit of the Gornergrat at over 3,000m above sea level?

Day 3 Glacier Express Zermatt – Chur 247km/153 miles
After breakfast this morning, we say farewell to our hotel and walk the short distance to Zermatt Train Station and take the Glacier Express for our 5½ hour journey on the slowest express train in the world! We will travel through snow-capped mountains, enjoy stunning views of glaciers, sparkling streams and waterfalls as we make our way towards Chur, where our coach (and luggage!) will meet us this afternoon to transfer us to the Silvretta Park Hotel, our home for the next 3 nights.

Day 4 Davos & Klosters Driver’s Day Off
If a further driver’s day off is required, we can explore the local areas of Davos and famous Klosters, known as a playground for princes, using the local cable cars and trains, which are free for us to use courtesy of our inclusive Davos/Klosters Card, allowing convenient and easy access to the surrounding mountains.

Day 5 Chur 209km/130 mile round trip
This morning, we board our coach for the journey to the oldest city in Switzerland, Chur. The centre of the Old Town is traffic-free and is perfect for exploring the many cafés and shops nestling within this 5,000 year old settlement. Our route then takes us to the chic alpine resort of St Moritz famous for its excellent sunshine record and high-class boutiques. We enjoy free time here for lunch and to explore the lakeside, before re-boarding our coach for the return trip to Klosters via the magnificent Fluela Pass.

Day 6 Departure
After breakfast this morning, we will leave Klosters behind and return homewards.
