The Mersey Mix!

Not just famous for The Beatles and its music heritage, Liverpool also has the largest collection of museums and galleries in the UK outside of London. With so many attractions and three fantastic hotels to choose from, you can select the best options to suit your groups!

Janine says…
‘Liverpool is my favourite city in the UK. Every time I visit, I always experience something new, with so many different events taking place throughout the year. The historic Albert Dock has so much on offer for groups and my personal favourites have to be the Mersey Maritime Museum and the Museum of Liverpool. The beautiful architecture of Liverpool reflects over 300 years of history whilst the modern Liverpool One is shopping heaven, with a cheeky cocktail being a must in the many bars. Offering the best of the old and the new, Liverpool was our bestselling destination in the north west in 2018 and we offer a great choice of city centre hotels to cater for all budgets - all you need to do is choose which attractions would suit your groups best!'
Mersey Ferries
The famous Mersey ferries are a great way to see the Liverpool skyline, cruising to Gerry & the Pacemakers’ famous “Ferry across the Mersey”! Stop off at Spaceport to explore all things intergalactic or the award winning U-Boat Story for a fascinating insight into a World War II German submarine. Alternatively, enjoy a summer evening cruise – a two hour cruise featuring live music, a bar and spectacular views of the world heritage
Waterfront. Mersey Ferries also offer a popular Manchester Ship Canal Cruise, taking in 35 miles of Britain’s grandest canal between Liverpool and Salford Quays.

Albert Dock
Forming part of the UNESCO World Heritage Waterfront Site, the Albert Dock is one of the country’s top heritage attractions, boasting museums, galleries, restaurants and bars. The Beatles Story is a huge draw for “Fab Four” fans and provides a fascinating insight into the life and times of the Beatles. Tate Liverpool stages international exhibitions of the best in modern art. A 2 hour Magical Mystery Tour also leaves from the Albert Dock and journeys around places connected to the Beatles, including Penny Lane and Strawberry Field. The National Trust also runs tours to Mendips and 20 Forthlin Road, Lennon and McCartney’s childhood homes.

Shopping
Liverpool is a shopper’s paradise and visitors are spoilt for choice at the gleaming new city centre shopping mall, Liverpool One. There are also boutique arcades, independent stores and the recently opened Liverpool shopping park, one of the UK’s biggest retail and leisure destinations a few miles out of the city centre.

British Music Experience
This permanent exhibition dedicated to the history of popular British music is housed in Liverpool’s iconic Cunard Building and features state of the art effects and iconic memorabilia from the last 70 years.

Cavern Club
The Beatles played at the Cavern Club nearly 300 times, helping to make it become the most famous live music venue in the world.

Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral
Britain’s largest, Liverpool Cathedral is a truly spectacular space. Try to catch one of the many events or take the Tower Tour nearly 100 metres above ground for amazing views of Liverpool. The interior of the cathedral is absolutely stunning and is a must-see.

Museums & Galleries
The Museum of Liverpool
The world’s first national museum devoted to the history of a regional city and the largest newly-built national museum in Britain for more than a century. A great bonus is free of charge entry!

Merseyside Maritime Museum
Delves into the historic seafaring past of the Albert Dock port.

Tate Liverpool
Home of the National Collection of Modern Art in the north, the gallery stages a changing programme of special exhibitions throughout the year.

Further afield
With great North West motorway connections, Chester, Manchester, Southport and many National Trust properties are within close proximity.
