Time for Tea in Greenwich

With so much to see and do in Greenwich, we have put together a two night short break featuring just a few of the highlights - The Royal Greenwich museums and the famous Cutty Sark tea clipper feature as does Eltham Palace.
Day 1 Arrival
We arrive at the Novotel London Greenwich with free time to explore Greenwich and possibly the famous Greenwich Market which is full of a fantastic mix of stalls, all under cover.

Day 2 Greenwich
We spend today at the Royal Museums in Greenwich. The Royal Observatory is home to the world-famous Meridian Line and Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) - on your audio guided tour, stand astride the historic Meridian line where east meets west. Marvel at the Great Equatorial Telescope and time your visit to coincide with the dropping of the bright red Time Ball on top of Famsteed house, which drops daily at 1pm. Visit beautiful Queen’s House to see the spectacular new art in gold leaf on the ceiling of the Great Hall and elegant Tulip Stairs spiral staircase. Climb aboard the famous Cutty Sark and admire at the towering masts and 11 miles of rigging, take the helm at the ship's wheel and enjoy fabulous views of the River Thames, singing a sea shanty as you go, followed by afternoon tea underneath the very ship built to bring tea to Britain! And don’t forget the National Maritime Museum, the largest museum of its kind in the world, full of maritime history. Visit the Battle of Trafalgar gallery, see Nelson’s Ship in a Bottle replica and get up close to the actual uniform Admiral Nelson was wearing when he was fatally wounded at the Battle of Trafalgar.

Day 3 Departure & Eltham Palace
Time permitting, we could visit the newly restored 'Painted Hall' in the Old Naval College (extra charge) before making our way to Eltham Palace, recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086. Today the Palace is a stunning mixture of medieval residence, Art Deco home and one of the few surviving 1930's Arts and Crafts gardens in existence. We then make our way home.
