Day 1 Arrival in Troon
We arrive at the fabulous Marine Hotel in Troon in time for dinner.

Day 2 Robert Burns Birthplace Museum & Culzean Castle 44 mile round trip
After a leisurely Scottish breakfast we will make our way to the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, which offers a unique encounter with Scotland’s favourite son. Set in 10 acres of the poet’s cherished countryside, the museum includes the famous Burns Cottage, where the poet was born, the historic landmarks where he set his greatest work, the elegant monument and gardens created in his honour and a modern museum housing the world’s most important collection of his life and works. There is time for lunch here before we continue to Culzean Castle, one of Scotland’s best loved castles. Here, we will enjoy a guided tour of the castle and free time to explore the gardens, deer park and swan pond before returning to our hotel for dinner.

Day 3 Isle of Arran 92 mile round trip
Today, we board the ferry at Ardrossan and sail to Brodick on the Isle of Arran, known as ‘Scotland in Miniature’. Arran is like a condensed version of the rest of Scotland: it has mountains, lochs, rolling hills, meadows and is surrounded by a stunning coastline. Stopping at Brodick Castle, set by the sea, bedecked with gardens, surrounded by hills and overlooked by the majestic mountain of Goatfell, we can trace its history as far back as the Vikings. After free time for lunch in Brodick, we take a scenic drive around the island, making a stop at Arran Aromatics, Scotland’s largest independent manufacturer of branded toiletries, soaps and candles, all of which are made on the island using natural ingredients. We will have time to purchase any of these products in the shop before we board the ferry back to the mainland, arriving at our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 4 New Lanark World Heritage Site & Troon 98 mile round trip
This morning we visit the award winning New Lanark World Heritage Site and discover the fascinating history of the impressive cotton mill village and the life and times of mill manager and social pioneer Robert Owen. As we explore the village it is easy to imagine how people lived and worked in Owen’s time. We will experience the ‘Annie McLeod Experience’, working textile machinery, the Millworkers’ House, Robert Owen’s House, the Roof Garden, the Village Store and Robert Owen’s School. There is time for lunch at the Heritage site before returning to our hotel where we will have free time to relax or enjoy a stroll into the charming town of Troon.

Day 5 Departure
After breakfast we depart our hotel and begin our journey home.
