Value in the West Coast & Aran Islands

Our Wild Atlantic Way tour combines the beautiful Wild Atlantic Way,
the iconic Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands, as well as a cruise to
tranquil Scattery Island – a perfect tour for those who appreciate
historic sites and stunning scenery.

Grant says…
“Prepare to cruise around Scattery Island’s landscape of totally
unspoilt natural beauty, see the historical sites including one of
the best examples of a preserved Round Tower in Ireland, and
hear the fascinating stories about the residents who lived on
the island.”

Day 1 Arrival
We arrive at our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 2 Scattery Island & Foynes Flying Boat Museum
We begin our day from Kilrush Marina and a cruise around unihabited Scattery Island, steeped in legends and folklore and home to a monastery founded by Saint Senan in the early 6th century. We enjoy a 90 minute cruise around the island; look out for its ruined monastery, Irish round tower, church buildings and remains of an artillery battery, before cruising back to the mainland. We then travel by coach to Killimer where we board the ferry to Tarbert for onward travel to the famous Foynes Flying Boat Museum, home to the world’s only replica of a B314 legendary flying boat, where we enjoy a guided tour and Irish coffee experience.

Day 3 Aran Islands & Cliffs of Moher Cruise
Today, we travel southwards along the Wild Atlantic Way to Doolin Pier where we board the Doolin ferry for a 30 minute cruise to the Aran Island of Inis Oirr. On
arrival, we enjoy a pony and trap tour of the island taking in all the highlights, before enjoying free time for lunch back at the pier. We re-board our ferry in the afternoon for a stunning return cruise back to the mainland via the Cliffs of Moher.

Day 4 Galway
We spend today at leisure in the medieval city of Galway, one of Ireland’s most engaging cities, full of culture, artistry, great food and music. European Capital of Culture in 2020, we explore its attractions, including its wonderful, winding cobbled streets, colourful shop facades and café culture.

Day 5 Departure
After breakfast, we make our way home.
